I walk down the stairs to see Draco already waiting on the couch.

"Hey." I practically whisper just loud enough for him to hear me.

"Hey." He says as he stands up to greet me. "What class do you have first?" He asks.

"Defense Against the Dark Arts with Mad-Eye." I say rolling my eyes.

"Same, you wanna walk there together?"

I open my mouth a little flustered, until I finally spit out an answer. "Sure." I say. We walk out of the common room together, as we walk down the hallways together, multiple people stare at us. I decide to bring up the question I had been wondering since yesterday.

"Hey, are you friends with Harry?" I ask curiously.

"No, quite the opposite actually. We hate each other." He says with a disgusted look on his face, he then thinks more about the fact that I'm his sister and asks, "Is that ok?"

"Yeah, of course. I haven't spoken to him in four years, were not close or anything."

"Oh okay."

We walk in to DADA and sit down at a two person table together on the left side of the classroom. I hadn't realized it till we got there but this was a Slytherin/Gryffindor class, which meant Harry was here too. He was sitting on the right side of course because he was a Gryffindor, but it still made me feel weird.

Mad-Eye Moody walks in and writes his name on the chalkboard.

"Alastor Moody. Ministry malcontent. And your new defense against the dark arts teacher. I'm here because Dumbledore asked me, end of story, goodbye, the end. Any questions?"

When nobody raises their hand he starts talking again.

"When it comes to the dark arts, I believe in a practical approach. But first, which of you can tell me how many unforgivable curses there are?"

The Gryffindor girl, Hermione, speaks up. "Three sir."

"And they are so named?"

"Because they are unforgivable. Use of any one of them will. . . "

"Will earn you a one way ticket to Azkaban. Correct. Now the ministry says your too young to see what these curses do. I say different! You need to know what you're up against, you need to be prepared, you need to find somewhere else to put your chewing gum other than the underside of your desk Mr.Finnigan!"

Me and Draco laugh slightly at this.

We can hear Seamus turn to his friend and whisper, "Aw no way, the old codger can see out the back of his head."

Mad-Eye throws his chalk out of anger and turns to face the class.

"And hear across classrooms!" He yells in anger. Now me and Draco are laughing even harder, unable to keep it in. Mad-Eye glares at the two of us. But we can't stop.

"So, which curse shall we see first?" As nobody raises their hand Mad-Eye practically screams, "Weasley!"

"Yes?" A red haired boy next to Harry says, fear full in his voice.

"Stand!" The Weasley boy stands up hesitantly. "Give us a curse." He says sturnly.

"Well, my dad did tell me about one, the Imperious curse." He says quietly.

"Ahh yes, your father would know all about that. Gave the ministry quite a bit of grief a few years ago. Perhaps this will show you why." He says as he walks away and heads to a table. He pops open a jar with a spider in it. "Hello. What a beauty."

He uses his wand to send it flying around the classroom. "Don't worry. Completely harmless." The class is freaking out, praying it doesn't come anywhere near them. "If she bites, she's lethal!" He says as the spider floats over the Weasley boy.

Draco laughs. "What are you laughing at?" Mad-Eye asks, as he moves the spider quickly to Draco's face.

Draco turns to me, now freaked out. As I am aswell, he looks at me and shouts. "Get it off! Get it off!" I quickly swat at the spider and it falls onto the desk, I'm not too happy with where it is but it is much better than my face.

"Talented isn't she? What shall I have her do next? Jump out the window?" He says as he flings the spider against a window, making the class laughter stop and everyone's faces go serious. "Drown herself?" He flings her just above a bucket of water.

The spider flies back into his hand. As he looks back at the classroom, "Scores of witches and wizards have claimed that they only did you-know-whose bidding under the influence of the Imperious curse. But heres the rub, how do we sort out the liars? Another, another, come on. Longbottom, is it? Up."

A stubby boy stands up.

"Professor Sprout tells me you have an aptitude for herbology."

He nods, "Theres the um, the Cruiatus curse."

"Correct! Correct! Come, come! Particularly nasty. The torture curse. Crucio!"

Mad-Eye starts torturing the spider, it squeals. Longbottom watches it in pain. As Mad-Eye continues to use the curse, not noticing how it is clearly making Longbottom struggle.

"Stop it! Can't you see it's bothering him? Stop it!" Hermione yells.

Mad-Eye looks up to see Longbottom very disturbed. And immediately stops. He walks over to Hermione and places the spider on her desk.

"Perhaps you could give us the last unforgivable curse, Ms. Granger?"

Hermione simply shakes her head. "No? Avada Kedavra!" He says as he casts the spell on the spider. "The killing curse. Only two people are known to have survived it. And their both sitting in this room." He says as he looks from Harry to me.

Me and Draco walk out of DADA right behind Harry and his friends. We can hear their conversation.

"Brilliant isn't he? Completely demented of course. Terrifying to be in the same room as him. But he's really been there, you know?" The red haired boy says.

"Theres a reason those curses are unforgivable and to perform them in a classroom! I mean did you see Neville's face?" Hermione shouts at them.

Harry nudges her arm and points to a boy on the stairs facing the window. "Neville?" Hermione asks.

Mad-Eye pushes past us, and walks over to them. "Son, you alright?"

Neville turns to him and nods. "Come on, we'll have a cup of tea, I want to show you something." Mad-Eye turns and walks back up the stairs, Neville turns and follows him.
