Chapter 3

I woke up from my nap since I noticed it was 6:00 and the company party started at 7:30. I got a phone call from Yvonne that she was coming by to help me get ready since I don't get out as much or in her case get dressed up.

Amour: I heard the doorbell ring like 10 times. Knowing damn well it's Yvonne. "Yvonne?!" I said it kind of angrily.

Yvonne: "Girl ain't nobody stunnin you." She brushed past me and looked at me confused.

Amour: "What?!" She gave me that nigga I know you ain't askin me that face. "Look I wanted a nap okay but let's go upstairs and get this over with." She walked up to my room with me.

Yvonne: "So pull out what you think your gonna wear. It has to be sexy." I pulled out an outfit not to sexy but comfortable and chic. "That's cute. I'll be downstairs waiting on you so don't take long and lemme know when your ready for makeup...okay?"

Amour: "Alright Yvonne." I took a quick hot 15 minute shower and got dressed. Putting my hair in a style was a lot of work because I have a ton of it.(yea it's my real hair) so I decided to keep it down but comb it all the way back so people can see my whole face. I called Yvonne upstairs since it was almost hitting 7:00 I swear time goes fast. "Yvonne!" I heard her coming up.

Yvonne: "You ready?" I nodded my head and my girl went to work. She slayed, beat, and gave me life to my face. "There ya go girl now let's go before all them hefas take all the men before you get there." We laughed.

Amour: "So are we taking your car or mine?"

Yvonne: "I'll take mine since tonight is your night. So let's go." We got in Yvonne's car and headed out and it took us only 15 minutes since Yvonne drives a little crazy anyway.

Yvonne: "Whew you ready girl?" She asked all nervously but hey I was too. I just didn't wanna show it.

Amour: "Yvonne your acting like its my wedding day." I laughed to myself.

Yvonne: "Oh wateva well it seems like it. So let's stop the talking and get to mingling with some business men." I agreed taking a deep breath as she grabbed my hand and we walked inside the building.

Mr.Reese: "Hey ladies."

Yvonne&I: "Hi, Mr.Reese."

Mr.Reese: "Well just don't stand here go mingle with your co-workers and other business people." He walked away from us.

Yvonne: "Well let's find a seat and get a drink." We found a seat and grabbed ourselves a glass of champagne. "Oooo girl he is fine." She pointed at some dude who looked like a player.

Amour: I sipped my drink and choked. "No Yvonne remember we're looking for long term relationships not one night stands."

Yvonne: "Ohh well look at you schooling me, okay sis." I smiled at her and shook my head. Some workers came and spoke to us but then I noticed Mr.Cox and wondered why he was here.

Yvonne: "If God just did some justice when he made him girl." She slapped my shoulder all excited. I mean he did look good than those clothes I saw him in that day.

Amour: "Yvonne calm down that hurts and besides that's the guy I was talking about." I took a long sip of my drink.

Yvonne: "Well I'm inviting him over here." She smiled at me.

Amour: "No! Yvonne are you insane?"

Yvonne: " Well no but still I don't want that hoe Ashley to to get him before you do. You deserve a man." She rubbed my shoulder.

Amour: "Fine you can invite him over here but I'm going to grab another champagne glass."

Yvonne: "Yay okay girl you go do that." I walked away to grab a glass from the server and I turned around to see the office hoe Ashley.

Ashley: "Well look at you." She smiled evilly.

Amour: "Hi Ashley". I said in a not caring tone.

Ashley: "Oh well you actually came out. It's surprising really." She mumbled.

Amour: "Ashley I don't have time for you tonight." I was about to walk away when she said something.

Ashley: "You see that man standing over there with your friend ya see he's a very wealthy man and young. He's going to be mine just like your baby daddy was mine." She smirked at me and chuckled to herself. I should punch the dog shit out of her. "Have fun night Amour."

Amour: "Whatever hoe." I walked away and went back to the table taking a deep breath as he was about to speak to me.

Kevin: "Wow you look nice."

Amour: "Thank you." I looked away.

Yvonne: "Well I'll leave you two alone I see a potential mr.right in my eye. So excuse me darlings." I watched her as she walked away from us feeling nervous with butterflies.

Kevin: "Your friend is funny." He laughed lowly to himself and took a sip of his Ciroc on the rocks.

Amour: "Yea she's something." Then I accidentally looked at him and my God was he fine. Wait what?

Kevin: "Sooo um are you also friends with Ashley?"

Amour: "Hell no!" I still wanted to throw a glass at that bitch.

Kevin: "Alright alright um I'm not going to ask bout that but I want to know more about you." He put his hand on top of mines.

Amour: My throat felt stuck. "U-um what do you want to know?" Still letting him keep his hand on mine.

Kevin: "How did you start working here?"

Amour: "My father worked here and co-owner so they had no choice but to let me work here."

Kevin: "Wow that's pretty dope."

Amour: "What about you? I heard your pretty wealthy and young."

Kevin: "Well yes I'm a DJ for August Alsina but I also have a clothing line."

Amour: "Oh interesting. Well how old are you?"

Kevin: "I'm 25." He smiled at me and I smiled back.

Amour: "I'm 24. Can I ask you something else not really pertaining to this? But why do you flirt with me instead of Ashley?

Kevin: "Well I know a hoe when I see one." We laughed. But if I see a woman I want then I go get her. I mean your beautiful,sexy,and independent. I mean what man wouldn't want that.

Amour: I smiled to myself. "Thank you. Your not too bad yourself."

Kevin: "Well thank you Im bout to go so I'll see you around maybe or we can make a date? Well not a date date but like lunch or coffee."

Amour: "That sounds nice Kevin I would like that." He grabbed my phone and I unlocked it for him and he put his number in and I did the same to his.

Kevin: "I'll call you tomorrow." He smiled at me and Yvonne came back over.

Yvonne: "So what's going on?"

Amour: "Well Kevin is about to go."

Yvonne: "Oh we are too. I'm kinda tired and my feet hurt."

Kevin: "Well we can walk out together." We agreed and walked out and I felt Ashley giving me a stare. I mean it is what it is boo. "Goodnight beautiful and goodnight mrs.Yvonne."

Yvonne&I: "Goodnight Kevin." We all went home and Yvonne left after she dropped me off. I came in to notice Mama Loni was knocked out with the kids on the couch. I forgot I gave her a key. I took Marcel to his room then got Sapphire. I walked back downstairs to wake up Mama Loni.

MamaL: She yawned and rubbed her eyes. "Hey sweetie well the kids were good like always. I left you some food in the fridge. I hope you had a good night."

Amour: "I did Mama Loni and thank you." I escorted her out the door and went upstairs and slipped in my soft short silky white gown and tied my hair up. Falling in a deep sleep.
