Airen sat upon his dark throne in his hall of ebony and looked down at the two small figures bowed before him. "Are you sure it wasn't him?" he asked quietly in a tone as sharp as a dagger.
"Yes my lord." replied Ailiyah.
"Then why did you not return to my hall immediately?"
"He was holding a girl captive my lord." Amaro responded.
"Was this girl of any importance?
"No my lord."
"Then why were you wasting your time on her when the whole entire kingdom needs you!? Was it because of that silly girl again? The one you were close to? The one that wasn't strong enough to survive?"
Ailiyah swallowed down her anger and stared fiercely back at him.
"You weren't thinking and then you went and got yourself hurt and dragged Amaro into it all while refusing to use your powers that could have easily saved you and Amaro! There are more important things to worry about right now then one useless girl. Or need I remind you? Get out of here and see the healer. I need you both back here tomorrow morning for your next mission." And with that he sent them out with a single wave of his hand.
Amaro quietly guided Ailiyah out of the room and into the narrow hallway. Then he spun around and in a deadly voice whispered, "Are you asking for a death wish?"
Ailiyah smirked burying her anger and replied, "Maybe I am." And swaggered to the healers room.
"I hate it when she does that." Amaro mumbled and trudged after her.
