Chapter 7 : Inner Empress Awakened

There is indeed a problem with Asia. This morning, she looked utterly devastated, as if she had just witnessed the most disarmingly sad spectacle of her life.

Rias and Akeno entered the room.

Rias : Asia, what's the matter ?

Asia : Issei-san. I shouldn't heave looked in his eyes.

Akeno : Issei ? You saw him ?

Asia : This morning, i saw the void in Issei's eyes.

His blank stare, he was so detached. So indifferent, he don't even look afraid anymore. Now i know how weak i am, because i will never be able to look in the eyes of this hopeless man. She sucked all life out of his scraggy body. These are his last days, i know ! Damn, if only i actually did something for him when i could. But he don't seem to give a damn. For him, i'm just another regret. But how can i forget his eyes ?! HOW ?! HOW CAN I FORGET ?!

Some will say that he just happened to be in the wrong place, at the wrong time. But where's the RIGHT place? What's the RIGHT time? WHERE ?! WHERE ?!

(sigh) If i could turn back time, i wish i'd never looked in the eyes of a hopeless man.

Akeno : It's not his last days Asia, i know things are not going well right now, but it's not the end.

Rias : Yes, we're not gonna let that happen.

Asia : You...you promise ?

Rias : Yes, we'll take Issei out of his misery, all together.

Akeno : Ara Ara, you're much less pessimistic than you were last night. You didn't get scolded by Moka by chance ?

Rias : She had things to tell me, that's all. The doctors gave me something to better cope with the alcohol withdrawal, i had a relapse last night.

Only my pride is hurt, but they have nothing to heal that.

They left the room to join Azazel, who was in the hallway.

Rias : You got something new Azazel ?

Azazel : Yes, based on what i've been told about you and Issei's nightmares, i noticed that the dark succubus sometimes manages to blur the boundaries between dreams and reality. Only the highest level succubi, the most powerful, the most experienced are capable of such feats. The matriarch obviously has this kind of power, although it seems to me that she doesn't use it in such a destructive way, except when facing particularly annoying enemies.

Which makes me think that the dark succubi are very linked to the matriarch.

Tsukune and Moka just arrived.

Tsukune : Did you just say you found something, Azazel !?

Azazel : Yup, but you won't like it.

Moka : Try us.

Azazel : Dark succubi are not ordinary succubi. They are extremely dangerous, Kokabiel and Shalba woudn't stand a chance against one of them. I've talked with Ageha about it and what she had to tell me may be too much for you to bear.

Moka: Why ?

Ageha : She's not the kind of predator that let its victims go. Once she has them in her hands, there's no saving them from her curse, unless...

Tsukune: Unless what ?

Ageha : They die.

Upon hearing this news, Moka felt immense fear emanating from what she had heard, and Tsukune immediately knew why. Kurumu covered her mouth in fear.
