Yours and Mine
Chapter 2
Winters' POV
"Let's play first!"
"No! Get me my cotton candy first!"
"No!" I yelled back.
Her eyes suddenly got big and watery. She CAN'T cry here!
"Okay!" I surrendered. "Let's go get that cotton candy of yours first." She simply grinned and skipped away. I shook my head. She's impossible.
I walked slowly behind her and slightly smiled.
I miss this. I miss being with her on carnivals. I miss sharing cotton candies with her. I miss going on roller coasters with her. I miss her. I miss us. But it's never gonna be back to the way it was.
That picture. That was... It... I didn't even know how to express it. It seems so real, but despite we're not together anymore, a part of me wished I didn't break it off with her. A part of me kept hoping that it wasn't real.
But it is. It happened, and there's nothing I can do.
"Thanks Winters." She said as I paid the cotton candy. I nodded as she started eating. She closed her eyes and smiled.
She loves cotton candy.
"Can we go to a roller coaster now?"
"Yeah sure."

We finally finished the rides. "I'd say it's time to go."
She nodded slightly. I let her walk in front of me.
Why did I let her go? Why didn't I ask her first about it?
I wish I never broke it off with her.
What's done is done.
Why did I trust Arielle anyways? She always hated Summers. And she always wanted me. What made me believe her? It's weird.
I thought about all the times we were together. We were always together. We were practically joined at the hip since we know how to walk.
Our parents are super close, and I guess that is the first thing that made us so close. Not to mention our birthdays.
We didn't really realize we had feelings for each other until halfway through middle school. I asked her to be my girlfriend in probably one of the most cliché ways ever! I slipped a DIY ring, made of wires, into her birthday cake, which almost killed her. Luckily, it didn't. She said yes immediately and that's one of the best day of my life.
She isn't wearing the ring. I realized.
Then I see something jingle in her neck. I fasten my pace so I was exactly beside her. It's a necklace. She brought it out and scratch her neck with her free hand.
It's the ring! She's wearing the ring as a necklace!
I smiled. She still loves me.
I wiped the grin off my face and checked my phone.
"James and others wanted to practice tonight." I said just as the same time she says,
"We're gonna practice tonight."
I looked over to her and she's avoiding my gaze. I cleared my throat. "Yeah. I'll pick you up at 6.30."
She slightly rolled her eyes. "I don't think people call it picking up. Your house is like, right beside mine."
