A\N: I think it's safe to assume I love writing this couple in this certain genre! I love torturing them both while giving them what they clearly deserve but didn't get in the show. I hope you enjoy this Angels.

When two gunshots ring out in the courtroom, it spins Alicia Florrick's world on its axis.

Despite herself, her body recoils as two gunshots ring out in one of the courtrooms in the courthouse. While she doesn't know it yet, Alicia Florrick's world will be spun on its axis and won't ever spin right-side up ever again.

For reasons she doesn't know, Alicia starts running in the direction of the courtroom where the gunshots rang out, running through the mass of people running away from the courtroom. Something in her stomach churns as she nears the room, telling her that entering the room won't be a good idea.

She feels sick when she steps into the room then it hits her: this is Will's courtroom where he was defending  the case of a Jeffery Grant or someone.

"WILL!" Alicia screams when she spots Will on the floor behind the table.

When she sees Will on the floor, blood pooling all around him, her world is further spun onto its axis, never to be spun right-side up again. She feels tears in her eyes when she meets his almost lifeless eyes but doesn't allow the tears to fall: she needs to be strong for Will, the way he's been strong for her in the past.

"You will hold on and survive this, Will Gardner." She whispers in his ear although he can't hear her.

When she reaches the hospital, Diane is already there waiting for her. She accompanied Will to the hospital in the ambulance. Diane pulls Alicia into a hug, ignoring the fact that her hands and clothes are stained in Will's blood, allowing her to release the tears she refused to let fall while in the courtroom with Will. "He'll be okay, Alicia. It's Will." Diane says as convincingly as she can without sounding too optimistic about Will's chances. Alicia pulls away from  the older woman and gives her a small smile. She knows Will and knows he won't give up without one hell of a fight.

Alicia and Diane sit in silence in the uncomfortable  hospital waiting room chairs, joined by Kalinda and Cary, waiting for news on Will who was taken into surgery nearly four hours ago. The lawyer groans as her phone vibrates again with another phone call from Peter who was told by Eli what had happened and not to call her. Just as she's debating throwing her phone away, Cary plucks it out of her hand. "I'll talk to him, he's the last thing you should be dealing with." Her partner says as he gets from his chair and answers her phone. She sighs softly. "I love Will." She admits to Diane and Kalinda who smile and Diane squeezes her knee. "We know Alicia and Will loves you too, so if he has any fight left in him, he'll fight to be with you." Diane tells her just as Cary returns with her phone and a male doctor walks over to them in scrubs and a lab coat. All four of them stand up, Alicia grabbing Cary's hand to anchor herself when she sees the doctor's face.

"Just tell us." Diane demands, voicing what the younger three can't. The doctor sighs and looks at each of them in turn, lingering on Alicia. "We did everything we could to save him, he lost too much blood, it's a miracle he managed to hold on for as long as he did. He held on for as long as he could but it just wasn't long enough I'm afraid. I'm so so sorry." The doctor says. "Are any of you called Alicia?" He then asks, Alicia looks at the doctor. "I am." She chokes out. The doctor gives her a small smile. "He said to tell you that he'll always love you." The doctor says, Alicia feels her legs give way and she crashes to the floor, bringing Cary down with her, tears streaming down her face as Diane and Kalinda join the two young lawyers on the hospital floor as they try and process that Will Gardner is dead.

Her footsteps are the only sounds in the silent room, her steps echoing in the bare room. The hospital room is empty, save for the gurney and the white sheet that lays over Will. She pulls the white sheet away from his face with shaky fingers and lets out a wail as she stares into his lifeless eyes. The eyes she's staring into aren't the ones she has spent the past 20 years staring into.

His eyes aren't meant to be cold or lifeless, they're meant to be full of warmth and life and mischief. Now she's staring into the cold, dead and lifeless eyes of Will Gardner. She takes his hand, flinching at how cold his hand is already.

Will Gardner isn't meant to be cold: he's not meant to be cold or lifeless, he's meant to be warm and full of life, making her laugh and smile.

"I'll love you forever." She whispers to him as she lowers her lips to his cold ones in their final ever kiss, until they reunite again in the afterlife.

"I'm okay with that."

She hears him say as she leaves him for the millionth time.
