the rest of the evening passes like any other party, Klaus socialised and Hannah stayed with Chelsea, who was acting with less then content because she knew Hannah was keeping something from her. By time 12 O'Clock came and the non traditional dance started Chelsea headed home with Aunt Elena and Uncle Jack, Hannah was about to do the same but was stopped near the door by Klaus. "Are you leaving all ready love?" he asked, Hannah looked over to uncle jack and the others who were getting into the car. "i was... i mean, i'm tiered" she said. "the party's just began, stay?" he asked but Hannah felt like it was more of a demand. "Klaus what do you want from me? My blood? Take it! but don't mess me around, i've had enough of that in my life time" she said stepping away from the outside, he lifted his arm like a gentleman and she took it like a lady. "i don't want to 'mess you about', not tonight." he said whilst leading her threw the house any away from the crowds. "why?" she asked but received no reply until they were well out of the way.

Klaus had lead her to a study at the very back of the house, she had a bad feeling about being so away from the crowds, out of sight and most of all no one would be able to hear her should she need to atract attention. "easy love" he said puring himself and her a scotch, he could see her worry, "i'm not going to hurt you" he said. "like you didnt hurt tisha evens" Hannah was sure he had a part in her death, it was too much of a coincidence that she died so soon after he moved into the village. "i'll give you that, i did kill her, over 100 years ago" he said handing her a scotch and taking a seat oposite her in a chair next to a lit open fire. "you mean she was a vampire?" Hannah asked, she thought about the facts of tisha evens, she was lonly and pale, everyone only saw her at night, vampire did make sence, he nodded. The story of Tisha evans secret life fascinated Hannah, she had no idea that the woman she had lived in the same village with for 19 years wasn't human, she hadn't even noticed she never aged.

102 Years ago Klaus came to Alderberry Village when it wasn't much more then a few houses a single pub and three farms, Tisha was the pub owners wife. Klaus explained to Hannah what happened in the week he stayed there. One night him and some of his vampire acquaintances were looking for someone to drink, that was the night they met Tisha. She served them a drink with shaky hands and one of Klaus's more noble Friends noticed bruises all up her arm, her husband beat her. Klaus's Friend befriended her in the following days without Klaus knowing. One night Klaus was walking close by the pub when he heard an argument, his Friend confronted her husband in a small side street with a dead end, and as a result showed her his real face. Klaus arrived after the husbands life had been taken and noticed that Tisha's arm was no longer bruised, in fact her skin was flawless, he knew then that his Friends had heeled her with his blood, Klaus snapped her neck and made her into a vampire so there secret would be safe.

Hannah listened to the story contently, wshe felt suprisingly safe. "so who killed her?" she asked, Klaus took a long swig of his drink. "i believe there is a hunter in town, they've killed three of my men" he said, "but that doesnt concern you yet" he added. Hannah began to wonder, what does concern her? what is her place in this supernatural world? "and what exactly is my concern?" hannah asked. "well i believe the terms of our deal was blood" klaus said and Hannah tensed slightly, she wasnt quite comfortable with the idea of him chomping down on her neck just yet. "calm down love, i'm not hungry yet" he says to her reliefe. "so how did your freind react to her death?" hannah asked changing the topic. it took a moment for klaus to click on to what she was asking, "he doesnt know yet, i havnt spoke to him since before i came here" he said, "were you close?" hannah persisted. "does it matter?" he countered realizing she was just trying to talk about anything other then blood, she nodded in a innocent way, she was curious as well, "if you really must know, he was my brother" he said before finishing his drink, "we should return to the party"

After a few hours of wild dancing and inappropriate behavior people started to head home, Klaus made small talk and chatted with a few people but never really strayed to far from Hannah's side who was stood with Collin and Emma for the most part. Hannah felt slightly indifferent to Klaus at this point, she wasn't sure how she should be taking all of this, weather she should be more worried about the fact she made a life changing deal with a vampire or the fact that the more she hears about this knew world the more she wants to know. She thought it was just her mothers personality coming threw, she always wanted to know more, she could know the meaning of life and still would be satisfied. Klaus had a brother, Hannah thought the story over in her head repeatedly, she didn't know why Klaus was telling her anything, he didn't have to but he did.

Klaus's POV.

Klaus didn't have a clue why he told her the things he did, but there was something about her, something he had to trust, she had to know about him; he hated it. he noticed he was reluctant to leave her side, and when he did he never went far. He put it down to his protective instinct, he didn't like people touching his things and now she was his. He took her into his study with the intention of biting her, but he couldn't bring himself to do it. It felt like his body was going against his nature ever time she was close, and it was killing him.

He saw she was standing with her Friend and his Fiancee, she looked indifferent and unsure, but she didn't seem scared, which was good. She was interested in him and his past, when he mentioned Elijah, his brother, she seemed interested and intrigued. Could he tell her everything? could he treat her as an equal and keep her safe? He didn't know what he felt for her but it sure as hell confused him more then anything in his entire life. He had to admit she was pretty and intelligent but that wasn't it, what he felt for went down to his core and effected him in ways he couldn't express, he felt like he didn't need to change for her, that he could just be himself.

When she aprouched him he was talking to anougher village local and some fair coming up. "Klaus its getting late i think its best i go home now" she said infront of his company so she knew he couldnt say no without looking suspicious. "of course" he said, he thought about letting her go home, in the dark, walking. The thought worried him "allow me to walk you" he said but he didnt really give her a choice. They both headed for the door.

*******

Hannahs POV.

Hannah stepped out into the night air, its summer so its not to cold but its England so its hardly warm either. They walked in silence for while until they passes Klaus's from gate, "you look cold" Klaus said, "take this" he took his jacket off and put it around her. "thanks" she said, she didn't want to push her luck but she had to ask, "so your brother, where is he now?"She asked, he looked at her without anger or intolerance, just curiosity. "i don't know, looking for the same thing i am i guess, at least he was when i left him" he answered her question. "is he your only sibling?" she asked. He to Hannah's surprise answered again, "no i had four brothers and a sister" he said, "but lets just say were not exactly on speaking terms" he said as they continued -to walk along.

Hannah saw a different person in Klaus when he answered her questions, he was honest and nice, he was the same person she knew but just a different part him. "what about you?" he asked, "do you have any siblings?" he asked, she had a feeling he knew the answer but she answered anyway. "no, just me. Chelsea and me are like sisters sometimes but that's it" she answers. "what about parents?" he asked her next. Hannah wasn't sure how to answer this question when people ask, does she tell them the truth or sugar coat it, does she just give them a veige non-answer. She decided Klaus was being honest with her and she should be honest back. "my parents died last year, they were driving not far from here when a dear ran onto the road and the car crashed" she said. "i'm very sorry to hear that, i lost my mother to, i know its painful to loose one parent yet alone to" he said. "what happened to her?" she asked. "i killed her" Klaus said quite simply and Hannah didn't feel the need to dwell on it for now, she knew he was a killer he never denied that. "my fathers been hunting me down ever since" he adds.

They were outside the cottage when Hannah came to a stop, "thanks for walking me" she says. "not at all love, i'm a gentlemen if nothing else" he said before adding "will you come for dinner tomorrow night?". hannah wasnt sure what to say, underneithe th charming honest exterior he was still a vampire, a killer and she was pretty sure she was on the menu. "i...i'm not sure if thats a good idea" she says, he obviously clicks on to what she was thinking. "by dinner i mean stake maybe a glass of wine. You dont have to worry" he says. "okay" she says relieved slightly but allso very bewildered, why was he being nice to her?

aunt Elena and uncle jack were both already asleep when Hannah got inside. Klaus was being nice to her and from what she had gathered this was out of character for him, she had no idea what he wanted, what his angle was here? as she got changed into her night clothes her phone started to buzz. "hello?" she said, the caller Id said it was unknown. "i wouldn't associate myself with vampires if i were you, your about to be caught in a cross fire i suggest you step away from the firring ground" a voice said, Hannah didn't recognise him. his accent was thick and Scottish, Hannah had no idea who he was. "who-" she said but he hung up suddenly. Hannah put her phone down on her bedside table. who ever it was they knew about Klaus, they also knew she was involved with him somehow.

Mysteries were piling up around Hannah, she was determinined to solve them all in time.
