Things have been different in the Park-Sim household the past few days. Well, different for Sunghoon. Jake is none the wiser to it. Luckily for Sunghoon Jake is book smart but social cues are not his forte.
Surely he was not in love with his best friend. But if he wasn't, why was he acting like this? Why does he keep catching himself staring? Why did he notice the way Jake's shirt slightly rose up showing the lower part of his stomach when he stretched, and why did he enjoy it?
"Hey Hoon, you okay? You've been zoned out for like 10 minutes." Jake asked, concerned.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Sunghoon mumbled.
He was indeed not fine. This realization came with 2 major things Sunghoon now had to confront. 1.He likes guys. 2.He likes Jake and if he doesn't play things right he could lose his very best friend.
"I'm not too convinced of that..." Jake pressed on scooting over to be closer to Sunghoon.
Tears started to form in Sunghoon's eyes and he jumped up so Jake wouldn't notice.
"I have class, I need to go. I'll see you later." Sunghoon choked out.
"Oh...okay see you later." Jake replied, still worried.
Sunghoon wasn't lying he did have class but he needed to get out of there asap so Jake didn't see him cry. He did need to do one more thing before leaving.
Sunghoon pulled out his phone and opened his Venmo.
He sent Jay $40 with a " :( " under it.
Sunghoon walked into the dance studio and put his stuff in his locker. Other than Color Guard his contemporary dance class was the place he could really just be himself and relieve all his stress.
Sunghoon has been dancing since he was 5. When he first started his parents put him in hip hop but he didn't like it. He had always watched the contemporary class and wished he could be just like those kids. When Sunghoon was 8 he was finally put in the contemporary dance class and he fell in love with it.
They were currently getting ready for the showcase they put on every year. Sunghoon was apart of a dance with a girl in his class named Amelia. They were dancing to "Fire on Fire" by Sam Smith. It really was a beautiful dance but it was very difficult. In the big climax of the song Sunghoon had to dive roll over Amelia. They have not actually attempted the move yet since it is so dangerous. The showcase is set for 2 weeks from that day. Sunghoon wanted to start practicing the move last week but Amelia was "too scared she was going to get kicked". This is why Sunghoon loved doing solos.
He didn't hate Amelia. She just annoyed him to no end. Remember the whole spiel about dance and being at ease well that's every time he doesn't have to be with Amelia. She stresses him out, but anything was better than confronting everything that was going on in his mind.
After running the beginning half of the song for what felt like a bazillion times they decided to take a break. In between long sips of water Sunghoon could hear Amelia ranting on about boyfriend something something.
"And my friend Ana well she likes this guy in her advanced calculus class...I think his name is Jake" She rambled on.
This caught Sunghoon's attention.
"What? Like Jake Sim Jake?" Sunghoon asked trying not to choke on his water.
"Yes that's his name! She said they have been talking more, they are even hanging out after class today. Can you believe it?" She excitedly exclaimed not picking up on Sunghoon's disdain.
He could not believe it. How could Jake not tell him? Well to be fair he had been moping around for the past few days so he didn't really give him the chance but still!
"Isn't Jake your best friend?" Ana asked.
"Yes he is..." Sunghoon answered while rushing to grab his things.
"Where are you going?" Ana asked.
"To see Jay!" Sunghoon yelled out while already halfway out the door.

This is kind of a shorter chapter, I apologize! Sunghoon finally realized his feelings, but is he too late????
