Jake and Sunghoon met in the ninth grade. Jake had moved to their school in the seventh grade , and he instantly became popular. All the girls were in love with him because of his Australian accent and the fact that he was on the football team. It surprised everyone when he got close to Sunghoon, he was a nice guy but he wasn't exactly popular. Sunghoon was a band kid, he did color guard to be exact. This didn't go over well with the boys in the school since it was a traditionally feminine sport. Sunghoon did not care what other people thought of him. He was called gay by the other school's student section but they didn't know him so he brushed it off. He wasn't going to let anyone else get to him.

Sunghoon led a very simple life in high school. He only hung out with the other fine arts kids. His best friend was Sunoo who was in the school's show choir. This is why he was very confused when the starting quarterback sat down next to him at lunch. Adding to the confusion was that he didn't come over there to make fun of him.

"Hi Sunghoon!" Jake exclaimed.

"You know my name?" Sunghoon asked, shooting a confused glance at Sunoo whose jaw was practically on the floor.

"Of course I do! We have classes together, you know." Jake said smiling.

Sunghoon was even more confused, but he played along.

"Yes I know, but football players and band kids usually don't associate. To be honest, I am really confused as to what you are doing over here." Sunghoon stated.

Jake didn't really know why he was there. By the look of his friends they didn't know either. He has always been intrigued by Sunghoon. Not in a weird way, he just always thought how cool it was that he didn't care about other people's opinions of him. Jake cared way too much about what everyone thought about him. It tears him up inside to think that anyone could ever think anything bad about him ever. He had overheard some of the conversations Sunghoon had with his friends in class and he seemed like such a fun person. He guesses that must be the reason he sat with him that day.

"I thought maybe we could be friends.." Jake said, almost embarrassed.

That was the start of Jake and Sunghoon. Fast forward to now and they are inseparable. So much so they are college roommates during their second year at BLU. To everyone who knew them, they were the picture of best friends. You never had one without the other. They were a strange combo, Jake still doing football and Sunghoon still doing color guard. Somehow they worked very well together. Their personalities completed the others.

They had established a pretty solid friend group since they started college. Sunoo was Sunghoon's friend from elementary through the time Sunghoon met Jake, they stayed close but they each got even closer to other people. They met Jay on the first day in their English class, he was also on the football team. Jungwon was in Sunghoon's music class and Sunghoon took a liking to him over a music pun he made. Niki and Heeseung came to be in the group on the day they walked into the wrong study group. Sunoo thought Niki was cute so he invited them to stay. The seven of them hung out all of the time.

Throughout the first year as one of them became particularly close to another they would end up putting in roommate switch requests just so they could room together.

Niki roomed with Sunoo. Jay and Jungwon were roommates. Jake and Sunghoon were roommates from the start. Heeseung was roommates with a guy none of them particularly liked so he spent most nights in Jay and Jungwon's dorm. It just worked out for them.
