We enter the dining hall. The dim lighting and the floating candles is an immediate comfort. I find my way to a seat with my friends and wait for the sorting ceremony for the first years to commence. I think back to when I first got sorted into Hufflepuff. How I felt when I heard the sorting hat call out my house. As I think about this I can't help but let my mind wander to Jacob, who was a Slytherin. It's strange because our parents are Hufflepuffs, you'd imagine he'd be one too. My thoughts are interrupted by Gabriella waving a hand in front of my face.
"Hello? You alright, Juliet?" She giggles at my mental absence. I sit up straight and nod.
"Yeah, sorry" This is my last year at Hogwarts, I shouldn't spend it worrying about that. I smile at my friends, pretending I know what their having a conversation about. A strange feeling abruptly comes over me, a feeling of being stared at? I looked over at the front of the dining hall. Then I found myself looking straight into the onyx eyes of Professor Snape. A blank stare on his face, looking straight at me. Was he staring at me this whole time or did he only just start? I felt the corners of my lips tug into a tiny smile, trying to be polite. He didn't respond, he just went back to looking somewhere else. I thought for a second then shrugged it off and continued my conversation with my friends.
