Being a Devil Hunter was never easy, actually, whoever became a devil hunter because they thought it was an easy job deserved to be beaten, since only an idiot would think that it is easy to fight beings from the underworld.

He had endured a lot during these years, cuts, blood loss, broken bones, his muscles being pushed to the limit, Quanxi's blows and one or another psychological attack.

And although sometimes it can vary, it is still a very exhausting job and with a high probability of dying in each mission.

He thought that he was just lucky, although the others praised him saying that he was very strong, he just felt that in some cases luck had been on his side, and probably the result of his hard training.

Most likely in the future he will be called the strongest devil hunter, a title he doesn't really care much about. He doesn't care now and surely he won't care in the future.

And today was just another day at work as a public security devil hunter where he would put his 'luck' and his skills to work. He had been informed that an incident with a mid-level devil had occurred in this area of residential homes, one of those that would make you drain an occasional drop of sweat, at least for him.

He had been working as a hunter for 12 years, he had practically seen it all. This was nothing new for him, he just had to eliminate the devil and that's it.

Just enter, kill and exit, without doing anything else.

He looked at the sky, it was cloudy and the whole environment was tinted a lonely and sad gray, the wind tried to make his muscles contract at the feeling of the cold. Winter in Tokyo was approaching so it was normal to see this kind of atmosphere during this time of the year.

What was unusual was the smell of copper that was slowly taking over the place. It was blood, from the intensity of the smell he could deduce that it was a lot of blood that had been spilled.

He saw all the houses that were in the place, many were still in perfect condition but only one of them had a flaw. And that was that one of the walls was completely destroyed.

He entered the house through the hole as if he owned the place, no doubt this was the place where the smell of blood came from. He walked until he found the stairs, along with the body of a woman.

Her body was lying in the middle of the stairs, the woman's green eyes lost their shine, her gaze was lost while under her the blood came out of her stomach and stained the carpet of the stairs .

He checked the body for an instant, the wound that killed her was a large bite that tore off a large part of her abdomen, that explained why she shed so much blood, she must have died instantly from the bite that stripped her of her internal limbs, or for blood loss. Both were good options.

But he wasn't the coroner, he had to keep looking for the person responsible. After passing by the corpse of the woman, he came across a corridor filled with some rooms with doors that had not been opened.

Except for one, the last to the bottom.

He quickened his pace for the first time since he got here, as he got closer he could make out a familiar sound, that sound that people usually make in the morning, noon and night while eating their respective meals. The sound of something being chewed.

He unsheathed one of his two swords that he carried on his back, they were his favorite weapons when it comes to killing a devil, their are very effective if used correctly.

He finally reached the room which he deduced was the main one, there he found a disgusting, creepy, terrifying scene, but nothing that he hadn't seen before. Sometimes he wondered how damaged his mentality could be.
