After our pre-dinner, we all sit down to watch TV as a group of friends. While Kendal flips through the guide the local news plays in a small box in the corner of the screen. No one is really paying any attention to it, but I.
The news reporter lady brings two fingers to her ear piece and immediately gets a strange look on her face. She turns her head away for a second and starts whispering something.
"Guys! Go back to the news!" I say.
They change it.
The news reporter turns back towards the camera and says, "we have just got reports that there is zombie-like beings roaming around the springfield and Eugene area. Please don't panic. Just stay inside and lock your doors."
We all turn our heads towards each other asking questions with out using words. Kendal picks up my cell and dials 911 but I stop her.
"Kendal, they already know about it. Why are you calling?"
"I was going to ask if they needed help!" She explains.
"Trust me, they don't need our help" I assure her.
"You don't know that for sure." She was on the phone with a dispatcher immediately.
"Hey, my name is Kendal. My friends and I are wondering if you need any help to get this zombie mess under control." Kendal tells the lady on the other line.
A few minutes later Kendal is off the phone. She looked so disappointed. They didn't need our help.
   "Told you!" I brag.
Erika is in panic mode. Her boyfriend is trying to comfort her, but she's never been a cuddly person. She's on the verge of tears on my couch.
Toby is on Kendal's side. He wants to help. I think we should stay here, Illias agrees.
After we stare blankly at the tv for second in fear, a 'breaking news report' interrupted what we weren't watching. The same lady comes on, but this time she looks more panicked.
"Sorry for this interruption. The zombie-like beings we mention earlier have somehow multiplied. We suggest packing and leaving. It seems li-" then she gets mauled by a zombie and the screen goes fuzzy. We all sit quietly in silence with out mouths hanging open in shock.
"Guys, we need to go." Illias says calmly while we all freak out.
"I agree. Everyone, start packing." I tell them. We stand up and run throughout the apartment to find bags, suitcases, backpacks, etc. I tell the guys to run to their place to get what they need and meet us in an hour or less.
An hour later, we were all back together, ready to say goodbye to the apartment when Kendal remembers something very important. Our cat, and her period. So we grab Mr. Twinkie and a box of tampons.
We were gone.
"We need guns!" Kendal says.
"I don't want guns, guns kill." I reply.
"Yeah, they kill zombies!" Kendal says before grabbing the steering wheel and making us jerk inside the car while sliding on the road. I'm trying to get it back from her, but fighting over the wheel results in crashing into a street lamp.
"Goddamn it, Kendal! This wouldn't have happened if you wouldn't have freaked out and grabbed the wheel!" I yell towards Kendal while getting out of the car and slamming the car door.
"Ugh!" She grunts. Kendal gets out with me to look at the damage.
"We need some fucking guns, Jenna." Kendal's tells me surprisingly calmly.
"You know how I feel about guns."
By now, the guys have gotten out of the car and started walking to the front the car where Kendal and I sit in sadness, anger, curiosity.
"This is fixable for 1. For 2, Kendal is right. We need guns, Jenna" Toby expresses. "Oh my god you guys, your names are Kendal and Jenna!" He says quickly.
"What are you trying to say?" Kendal asks.
"Kendal, Jenna! Get it?" We get it. We've been hearing it forever.
"Yes, it's funny." I say.
Erica is smiling over by her boyfriend,
"So, are we going to fix this car or what? We could be eaten guys!".

Illias and Toby try popping the dents back in. Successful. We were off again in no time, off in search of guns.
Kendal takes our lives in her hands this time. I'm a more carful driver but she gets places faster. In a zombie apocalypse you need to be fast. Kendal takes us to a small gun shop next to a subway. She says she's been here many times and knows the owner. Kendal, Toby, and I go to the shop. Meanwhile, Erika and Illias get sandwiches at subway. We all know that no one will be there, that means free guns and free food.
There's almost nothing left. Others have been here, the place is wiped out. But Kendal and I look anyway. We end up finding 3 guns and few boxes of bullets. Kendal says they'll have to do for now.
We continue to search until Erika and Illias come running into the shop, out of breath, and worried.
"Guys..." Illias pauses. "We have company,".
