As William thought of ways to make both him and his son happy. He decided he'd talk to his best friend Jax to see if he could help in this situation.
"Jax, I don't know what to do," Will said as he slumped over the kitchen counter, "should I let him stay here in Tōhoko? Or should I take him with me to new Boston?"
Jax didn't really know that answer either it really depended on what John thought. As Jax was about to say something, they heard the front door open and the sound of shuffling.
"Looks like we're gonna find out," Jax stated.
Once Will and Jax were in the living room where John was taking off his shoes and hanging his jacket, he immediately turned to his dad,
"Why are we moving? Did something happen?" John asked a bit worried, wondering if it was his dads job, which it probably was. It took a few minutes for his dad to come up with a reply as John was about to speak, Will cut him off.
"Um- well, we're moving because my editor lives in Boston, and it'd be easier for me to communicate with him, but you don't have to go with me you can stay here if you'd like," will said not wanting to say the real reason.
John was contemplating what his dad had said. He wanted to go with his dad since they rarely spent time together, but he also didn't want to leave his friends. He knew Adrion lived in Boston so it'd be a plus to go with his dad, but the U.S was different from Japan, he wouldn't know how to act and he definitely knew he couldn't solve anything there without fighting.
"I don't know, Dad. How long until you or we move?" John asked defeated.
"I haven't booked the tickets yet, but I have my stuff packed already," William states. Jax didn't know what to do in this situation, so he stood quiet as the two discussed what they were gonna do.
"Can I think about it?" John asks.
"Of course, John, I can wait a little over a week, but I'll need an answer soon." William said as he walked to John, giving him a hug, which John gradually accepted.
As the afternoon faded into the night, John slipped through the back into the cold breaze of the outside blew against his porcelainskin ever so gently the wind flowing through his hair. The quiet night left John with only the sounds of leaves crunching underneath his feet. John loved to walk, especially at night. It felt nice to feel the cold breeze stare at the stars that still like to show themselves in the nightsky and watching the rippils in the water when the moon reflected off it. John stood near the edge of the river, faded honey brown eyes watching the water flow. He looked up at the sky, mind blank, too many thought to comprehend anything but the crickets that still lay awake. He couldn't keep what his dad was saying out of his head, john wondered if living close to his editor was the real reason his dad wanted to move. As he pondered more on the thought of him moving away from his friends and if what johns dad said, the more scrambled his mind became, so he decided to go back to the house, having heard enough of his thoughts.
After settling in his bed, he couldn't help but think about how all his friends would feel about him moving, especially this quick. 'Why couldn't dad tell me sooner.' John thought, more of a statement than a question, with that his eyes fluttered closed, letting his tiredness consume him.As the morning came, William awakes the sun, blinding him for a moment until he decides to get ready for the day.
Slipping off his pajamas, he walks to his dresser and pulls out a grey shirt along with navy blue sweatpants. He slides on his slippers, walking to the bathroom to brush his teeth a little worried and excited for breakfest wondering what his son made. The thought of his son filled him with dread, William knew he should have told him they were moving sooner, but he was worried about his son being skeptical. 'I can't keep hiding it from him.. I'm gonna have to tell him at some point.' William thought, thinking back to what Jax has told him.
"William, you can't keep giving him the same excuse. I know he hasn't asked you about it forever, but still, tha- " Williams thoughts were cut short as he heard his son talking to someone.
"Who the hell's in my house." Will said as he was walking over to the kitchen.
Once he reached the end of the hallway, he saw Ben and Leana eating some breakfast John had made, 'looks like we're having Ome rice', Will thought.Ben, not paying attention to the conversation John and Leana were having, he looked to his right to see John's dad. "Good morning, William," Ben said a little jittery.
"Good morning, Ben." Will said back.
As everyone exchanged good mornings with each other, they carried on with breakfast.John's thoughts were still in conflict with each other, but he knew his answer, and he was going to stick by it, Ben and Leana thought it was a good idea, so he was gonna go. "Dad?," John said, catching his dads attention, "I want to go with you."
As John said, those words William was already giving him a hug having a feeling of he was gonna say.
Both Ben and Leana stood up to join the hug. They weren't going to lie. It hurt a little that their friend was leaving, but they wanted him to be happy. Plus, it's not like they can't contact each other."I'ma start packing up my clothes," John said, tearing up a bit, Ben teased him about it but he was tearing up as well.
The three walked to John's room, leaving William with his thoughts.
