"So you have finally come to kill me."Isabella had been waiting for this day for a long time. Now that it was here she felt nothing but relief. Her parents would finally be free of the burden she caused by simply existing. Yes they were a loving couple and always were reassuring her that her lack of vision was not a problem but Isabella knew that she was a large strain on their resources. She could not contribute to the household in any way and depended on both her parents to get through her days. Isabella was thankful for what they did for her but would have liked to be able to do something for them. Luckily her death would fulfill that wish.

"What makes you think I want to kill you?"Colette asked.

"I had a dream about a woman with dark black hair and red eyes coming to me during the night. She bit my wrist and drained me of my blood. As you are here in the middle of the night and I suspect you have black hair and red eyes that means you have come to kill me."Isabella told her.

Colette was taken a back by that."Do you often have dreams that come true?"

"All the time"Isabella said.

"Well Isabella I hate to tell you this but I'm not here to kill you."Even if Colette had planned to kill the girl she would have stopped herself after hearing about the dream.

"Well then why are you here?"Isabella asked.

"I'm not sure you will believe me."Colette was unsure how to tell the girl her reason for being there.

"Well you won't know unless you tell me."Isabella replied.

Colette chuckled."That is very true."

"So what is it?"Isabella was very intrigued by the woman as she had initially thought she was going to kill her. Now she wasn't sure what was going to happen."And you haven't told me your name."

"My name is Colette and I am here because I caught your scent and knew you were important to me."Colette told her.

"How am I important?"Isabella asked.

"I think I should first tell you what I am."Colette wasn't sure how Isabella would react to the reveal but if she was aware of her red eyes it might not be a surprise.

"That would be nice."Isabella had wondered what kind of creature Colette was.

"I am vampire."Colette wasn't sure what to think of the lack of reaction from Isabella."Are you alright?"

"That's why you were drinking my blood."Isabella concluded.

"If your dream is to be believed then I wasn't draining you I was changing you into a vampire."Colette hadn't even considered draining the girl.

"Why would you want to change a blind girl into a vampire?"Isabella couldn't think of a reason someone would want to take on the responsibility to look after a blind person.

"The reason is the thing I don't know if you will believe."Colette said.

"Well I believe you're a vampire. I doubt anything else you say would be more surprising than that."Isabella couldn't think of anything that would be less believable than vampires existing.

Colette thought that was a good point."Well vampires have soul bonds with people sometimes. There are two types of these bonds. One is a mate bond. That is when they find a romantic partner that is literally their one perfect match. The other bond is a familiar bond. That is when a vampire feels as if they find a person that is a child of their own body or if they find a person they see as their parent."

"Which bond do I have with you?"Isabella asked.

"We have a familiar bond. As soon as I caught your scent I felt like you were a child I personally gave birth to."Colette explained.

"How come I don't feel the bond?"Isabella would have expected to feel something for the vampire.

"Usually humans can feel the bond if they make eye contact with the vampire they are bonded to. I think because you are blind the bond won't take effect until you are changed and can smell my scent as scent is another way to cement the bond."Colette wasn't worried about the bond falling into place. As soon as Isabella was changed she would feel the full effect of the bond.

"That makes sense."Isabella could easily understand not being able to feel the bond.

"So I want to offer you the choice of becoming a vampire like me."Colette's instincts were demanding she just turn the girl but she wanted Isabella to have a choice. Something most vampires were never given.

"I don't think a blind vampire would be easy to live with."Isabella was interested she just didn't want to be a burden to the woman.

"It doesn't matter if you're blind Isabella. You're my child. I would happily stay by your side and help you navigate the world for the rest of eternity."Colette didn't care if Isabella was blind. The human was her child she was more than willing to make any sacrifices needed to have her in her life.

Isabella thought it over. Colette seemed sincere in her convictions and a small part of Isabella wanted to please the vampire. Maybe that was the bond. Whatever it was had Isabella agreeing."I would like to be changed."

"Good then why don't we get you out of here and we can take the first step to spending eternity together."Colette scooped Isabella up in her arms and rushed out of the house. She was very happy that her child chose her. Colette didn't really have a doubt but there was always a chance that the human wouldn't want anything to do with her. Then again Isabella did have the dream about her. That was something else Colette was excited about. It was obvious that Isabella had some kind of gift. The gift of sight. It made Colette wonder how it would manifest when she was turned. That didn't matter right then though. What mattered was getting Isabella to the small isolated cabin in the woods she had set up for changing the girl. Then like Colette said to Isabella. They would take their first step towards spending eternity together.
