Summary:

The arrival of Erlonda in Olympus has amused and captivated Zee and Nu. However, they learned a few more things about what was happening in the world. What will Zee and Nu do when faced with a decision that could put their lives in danger.

Zee and Nu waited for an answer from whoever had entered their room without their permission. It was nothing like they had ever felt or smelled before.

"Hia, it smells of dirty water. It is hard to imagine water walking into our boudoir, but it seems to have done just that. I do not feel this being is a threat to us. I skimmed over the high thoughts of the entity.

It is dreaming of a concert and jumping up and down in excitement. It seems almost childish in nature. I do not want to wait and see what it is. Let us find out.

Open your mind like we have been practicing, and I will push into yours. We need to join minds quickly while it is asleep," Nu concentrated, relieved that whatever had happened to their bodies did not affect their minds.

While pushing into others' minds was new, it became easier over time because they had practiced a lot. They were afraid if they did not, Hera would punish them. She was a ruthless teacher but did it out of love.

Hera had taken over their defensive training for the past four hundred years. She casts spells, has a massive book on the subject, and consistently claims her love for Zee and Nu to anyone around her.

"I am not sending my lovely baby boys out without protection," Hera would sniff, throw her nose in the air, and walk away.

They were only supposed to use this spell in case of an emergency, and Nu felt this was one of those times; thankfully, his mother had foresight that this would come in handy.

We cannot move or open our eyes. We need to assess the threat. We have no choice but to be defensive like Mother taught us to be," Nu pushed into Hia's mind to prepare him for the jump.

Hia's first reaction was to resist the invasion of his mind, but he could feel his love opening to him. It must be hard for his Hia to be all he is and still have balance.

He was the human equivalent of the God of War, and trusting him was a gift Nu did not take lightly. He was like his father, always on guard, always wanting to protect.

That came with a price. Where other mates had a natural flow to them. Hia always pushed back, and Nu always had to give way. If Hia tried to isolate himself, Nu had to pull him out of his shell.

It was a careful balance, but a price Nu was willing to pay because when Hia opened his mind to him the first time, all he saw was him in every memory, his picture all over his mind's eye.

It was like a constant recording professing his love for him and their children. How could he not be totally in love with a man who would give everything and die for them if necessary? Who else in all the world could boast such a thing?

Once Hia had embraced him in his mind, Nu began to push against the entity's mind carefully. He did not want to warn it if it became aware of their presence.

As they focused on their entrance, they never wanted to invade quickly. You like to see a person's core being when they are relaxed and conversant with their subconscious self.

Nu's first impression was that this was a child or a pre-teen but also ancient in terms of human years. The contradiction was a conundrum that even Nu did not think he could figure out. He would love to converse with it to discover all its secrets if he had the chance.
