: The Maze Chapter by Summary:

The epic battle above the maze is over and Zee realizes that Nu is hurt worse than he thought. Melchor The Maze Master Apprentice was there for the battle, he was now watching the two heroes. The timeline is out of control with changes that never should have happened, well out of order from previous lives. It only gets worse when Heartue Hong Hong makes his entrance into their lives early. What is wrong with this timeline?

Melchor The Maze Master Apprentice

Melchor watched in awe as the two legends floated down after the epic battle. No other being in all the worlds could ever boast such a thing but him, not that he would.

How could he not cherish the experience the supreme God afforded him? He was so thankful he had been chosen for this task. His dream was finally coming true. He could finally be himself.

Melchor no longer had to hide who and what he was. Who he was meant to be, not that it made his worldview any different. Melchor was born to assist and facilitate the greatest heroes of all time. It was humbling.

Growing up, Melchor was an outcast on Echo, his home world. His lack of a visible assignment set him up to be teased, and they were vicious with their taunts.

He wanted to share his success in his assignments and those special moments with his classmates and have them celebrate with him like others had. Melchor did not like being alone in a crowd. Melchor wanted to experience what others did.

It never happened because Melchor was chosen, the Cosmos said. But there were times he did not feel special. Just once, Melchor wanted to fit in. He never understood why it had to be a secret. An identifying mark would have changed everything.

Everyone else on Echo proudly displayed their brands that showed their assignments. Most of his classmates had left for their permanent assignments on other planes of existence hundreds of years ago.

His life was filled with calls of, "Null, good for nothing, a burden on their great society," by those who never would understand that the Cosmos made their grand plan decision, and everyone had a purpose for rehabilitation.

Melchor could not even be happy that those behind these insults were pulled from their grand plan and set to a life of military service.

It was sad that anyone could not fulfill the purpose they were born to complete. Others would need to be recruited, born, trained, and have time altered to complete such a staff replacement so as not to disturb the grand plan.

This took time and energy, which the Cosmos could have used elsewhere. It was sad for all involved except the new souls recruited to serve the worlds.

"What a privilege," Melchor exclaimed too loudly.

Keeping his life and destiny secret was paramount, and no one had ever found out. He had done what the Cosmos asked. Melchor took it all in stride. Cosmos planned and orchestrated his life and was proud to serve the world.

Younger apprentices still hoped to be Zee and Nu's portal master, especially among his friends who had not been given an assignment like him.

Melchor often wondered if they could be the royal family portal masters. Eleven of his friends were without an assignment, and eleven royal couples were still without their destined portal masters. When his mind wandered, Cosmos would reprimand him and set him back on his task.

"Do not worry about other destinies. Your destiny is big enough for thousands, but I trust you alone to complete the task at hand," the Cosmos' voice would boom in his mind.
