Can a man and a woman become just friends?
The answer is yes, they can.
Jeon Jungkook and Lalisa Manoban have been friends for six years now. They have proved that men and women can really be just friends. After all, being friends with someone is a choice.
“I've been single for two fucking years,” Jungkook groaned as she handed a can of beer to Lisa.
Lisa chuckled, shaking his head. “Aww, miss getting laid?” she teased.
Jungkook squinted his eyes at her. “Hey, for your fucking information, I'd get laid if I wanted to.” He opened his car of beer, gulping the contents down his throat. “I mean, I haven't been in an actual relationship for two years.”
“Definitely a you problem.” Lisa shrugged. “I mean, think about it — you don't want commitment in the first place.”
“It's not like that.” Jungkook rolled his eyes.
“I should find a boyfriend soon.” Lisa yawned, plopping herself down on the grass beneath them.
After a week of not seeing each other, they decided to hang out and have a midnight picnic at their local park. And now, seeing everyone around them dating, they suddenly felt how single they actually were.
"Thought you didn't want a boyfriend anymore because of he who shan't be named." Jungkook began to lay down beside Lisa.
"Oh, shut the fuck up. It's been two years ago as well," Lisa groaned. They both looked at the sky. "And I cannot even see a single star up in the fucking sky."
"Don't get mad at me. I'm not the one who cheated on you," Jungkook teased.
"Dipshit." Lisa rolled her eyes as she slammed her hand on Jungkook's arm.
Jungkook laughed out loud as he continued to look up. "Man, you're right. It's like looking at the ocean at night. Gives me the chills."
"Should we date?" Lisa proposed out of the blue.
Jungkook snickered. "Yeah, and succumb to the male and female friendships tend to end up in romantic relationships shit? Sure, Lisa."
Lisa rolled her eyes for the nth time of the day because of him. "Be fucking serious for a second, geez."
"The fuck? You're serious?" Jungkook's brows immediately knitted together. He looked at her, observing her for a moment. "Oh shit, you are. The fuck are you on?"
"Beer." Lisa sighed. "I don't know. It's not like you see me as a girl, and I see you as a boy. Why don't we date for the sake of it?"
Jungkook arched an eyebrow. "For the sake of what, exactly?"
"To get people off our backs, dumbass." Lisa threw her empty can of beer toward Jungkook.
Jungkook contemplated for a moment. "Dunno. It'd be awkward."
"How so?" Lisa asked. Jungkook scoffed at this. "Answer while I'm asking you nicely, Jeon."
"Nicely, my ass." Jungkook shook his head. "It's obvious! I have to start treating you nicely if we ever start dating."
Lisa face-palmed, not believing what she was hearing. "The hell. We're not actually dating."
"So, like, fake dating?"
"No, well——yes? And no?" Lisa was uncertain herself. "We're dating, but you know, just for the sake of it. It's a joke of some sort. Imagine the others' reaction once they find this out."
