Lisa and Jungkook stared at each other, their eyes squinting and their arms crossed beneath their chests.

It's been a year.

How come they didn't notice that they're approaching their anniversary of being an actual couple? They didn't expect to make it this long. Now that their friends made them realize it, they felt like they had to talk about it.

"Yah," Lisa spat out.

"What?" Jungkook deadpanned.

"We're still dating," Lisa told him.

Jungkook curtly nodded. "Yeah. So?"

"So?" Lisa scoffed. "So what now?"

Jungkook shrugged and sighed afterward. "What? You wanna end it now?"

"I didn't say that." Lisa massages her temples. "What exactly are we going to do about this? We started out as a joke."

"Beats me," Jungkook deadpanned, making his way to the couch. "Let's watch a movie." He turned the television on and started scrolling through Netflix.

Lisa gawked at this, not believing Jungkook wasn't cooperating--okay, maybe Jungkook not cooperating wasn't something to be surprised about. "Can you take this seriously? Geez."

"Are you inconvenienced by our setup?" Jungkook asks casually, eyes still fixated on the television. Lisa gulped, slowly shaking her head. She was certain Jungkook still saw her through his peripheral vision. "Me, too. So, let's just continue it. Now help me pick a movie."

"Oh, fuck you." Lisa raised her middle finger at him.

"Would you like to?" Jungkook teased.

Lisa grabbed the nearest pack of coffee and threw it towards Jungkook. "And if this continues?"

Jungkook sighed deeply. "We aren't inconvenienced by our setup. Everything's been good apart from the lengthy time you're in the bathroom. I don't know what's up with that--"

"Oh, so you want to start with that? Sure, who does the laundry around--"

"Fine, fine. I'm sorry." Jungkook faked a smile. "Anyway," he cleared his throat as he finally turned towards her. "We're good. Why change that? I thought we were gonna go with the flow in the first place." He patted the space on the couch beside him. "Can we watch a movie together now?"

"You just want to cuddle. You don't actually pay attention to the movie." Lisa rolled her eyes as she walked towards Jungkook. She sat down beside him.

"Don't go on stating the obvious," Jungkook sarcastically muttered.

He snaked his arm around her shoulder and nodded, pulling her closer to him. She rested her head on his chest, snuggling a bit to find a spot she was comfortable with. "Pick a movie already," Lalisa complained.

"What do you think I was trying to do here?" Jungkook inveighed.

To summarize everything that has happened so far really quickly, Lisa and Jungkook decided to become an item due to external (peer) pressure. Furthermore, they aren't romantically inclined with each other at all; therefore, they think they can enter a relationship without any actual feelings involved.

In the first three months of dating, they moved in with each other. They'd been thinking of becoming dorm mates before they entered college. It's just that they thought this was the perfect time to do so since they were already in a relationship, and no one would question why the two were living together.

Everything has been well, and not much has changed in their actual relationship with each other as well as their dynamics. But of course, we have Jungkook addressing her with his chosen pet name. Lisa only addresses him as hon whenever she feels like it is necessary. Other than that, everything has been the same.

Up to yesterday, when they both realized this has been going on for a year now. They started their relationship as a joke. The question is - is it still a joke?

And the answer to that, we will soon find out . . .

Actually, let us find out right now.

It's been three days, and Lisa and Jungkook's anniversary is coming up in five days. Jungkook entered their room and saw how Lisa was casually occupying eighty percent of the space of their bed.

"Move it," he grunted. Lisa didn't budge. Jungkook sighed as he made his way towards her and rolled her around. Once she was flipped, Jungkook immediately started to lay down beside her.

He looked at the date from his phone and pursed his lips. He fiddled with his phone as he subtly turned his head towards Lisa, who was still unbothered as she casually sat up straight. She was playing a game, so she couldn't care less.

"What do you wanna do on the 19th?" he asked, trying to sound as casual as possible since he didn't want her to find it weird.

"19th? What day is that?" she asks, her eyes fixated on her phone.

"Saturday," Jungkook answered.

"Dunno. I'd probably pass out the whole day, anyway. Girls invited me to go clubbing on the 18th. Post-finals celebration."

Jungkook pursed her lips upon hearing this. Maybe realizing it's already been a year did have some effects on him. "You're going clubbing? With whom?"

"Yes, dear boyfriend, I am going clubbing. Like I said, with the girls. Jisoo unnie, Jennie unnie, and Chaeng," Lisa muttered in a sarcastic tone. "God, you sound like an actual boyfriend right now."

Jungkook scoffed. "Maybe because I am?"

Lisa snickered. "Sure, whatever." She suddenly dropped her phone and started clapping. "Fucking clutched that. I won!" She looked at Jungkook, her smile dropping once she saw how he was sulking. "Yah, did I say or do something?"

Jungkook sighed, shaking his head. "I'm going clubbing as well on the 18th." Nope, he wasn't.

"Alright. Enjoy, I guess?" Lisa shrugged as she delved back into her game.

"Ain't gonna ask me who I'm with?" He sat up straight.

Lisa paused her game and darted her gaze towards him. "Nope." She popped the 'p' and smiled teasingly, "You're the only jealous one here."

"I am not being jealous," he protested.

"Sure," Lisa snickered. She faked a cough, "Perilla leaves."

"The way I acted was normal for how a boyfriend should act!" he defended himself.

In the second month after being official, Jungkook tagged Lisa along once to a meal with his college friends. They wanted to meet his girlfriend, too, after all.

Out of chivalry, one of his college friends, specifically Mingyu, peeled perilla leaves for Lisa since he saw Jungkook was busy peeling something else. Lisa thanked Mingyu but respectfully told him that he shouldn't do that because of Jungkook.

Jungkook wasn't Elsa. He didn't let it go.

In reality, the food Jungkook was peeling was for Lisa, anyway. He was going to peel the perilla leaves for her after he was done. However, seeing how Mingyu actually took some effort to peel some for her made him feel . . . admittedly, jealous.

"Did you ever see me get jealous?" Lisa arched an eyebrow.

Jungkook clicked his tongue. "No." He crossed his arms beneath his chest. "So you aren't a tad bit curious about who I'm with while I go clubbing?"

"I'm curious, yes. But I know you wouldn't cheat on me," she confidently and casually told him.

Lisa was cheated on before. To be honest, she thought she'd be suspicious every single time she enters a new relationship. However, because it was Jungkook, she felt reassured enough that he wouldn't do such a thing to her.

"Why would I even do that?" Jungkook rolled his eyes as he started to lay down once again. He covered his face with a pillow, muttering, "I'm going to sleep. You better go to sleep after one more game. You have classes tomorrow."

"Yes, Dad," Lisa sarcastically responded.
