I was shocked when Arthur came back to my house in full demon hunting gear. I was even more shocked when he used magic to figure out where the demons were. Magic! That stuff was only supposed to be used in movies!I had to stand by and watch as he took out all the demons himself. Of course, I helped him a few times. Like when I pulled out a nail from the attic stairs to get the Black Mass off of him, or when I killed the demon in my room.
One thing's for sure, he's an awesome demon hunter.
I watched as he found my supplies in my attic, and eradicated almost all the demons from my house.
---
I sighed, looking out the window at the rain. It had been going strong for the past day and a half, and I was waiting for Arthur to return.
Why are you so worried about him?! You should be helping us kill him!
The voice had come back, along with a headache.
"No," I said back, "Why can't you just leave?"
Because, it said, you know I'm speaking the truth. He hates you just like everyone else. The only reason anybody pretends to like you is to get something from you. They always want something.
"No they don't! Go away!"
No.
But even then, doubt wiggled in the back of my mind.
"What if he's right?"
I am right.
You know everyone hates you. Don't deny it.
"Shut up!"
You were never a hero. You're nothing like one.
"I said shut up!"
... at least you tried.
"...what?"
You tried to help, but no one listened. Everyone just kept on making fun. Why don't you get a little revenge?
"I can't do that!"
Why not?
I honestly didn't have an answer.
I don't really remember much after that. It was really all a blur, but I do remember the head-splitting migraines and slowly going numb the more I doubted myself.
...
I remember darkness, and then sudden light. It bothered me, so I walked outside. It was dark there.
It was then that I realized I was free. That I could control the ethereal body I had been inhabiting. I grinned, and lifted up my arm to examine it.
"Finally."
-=-=-=-=-
"What do you mean you can't kill him?!" I yelled, picking up the sorry excuse for a demon off the ground and smashing it against the mirror. A slightly psychotic grin spread across my face as red dripped from the broken glass to the floor of the bedroom.
Having an incredibly strong body is fun.
"I don't care what you do, but kill him! If you fail, I'll do it myself, and then you're next on my hit list!" I yelled, throwing the demon across the room.
---
My plan was working perfectly.
---
I lay on one side of the room, the dark figure standing above me. I felt weighed down; the chains on my wrists felt like they were welded into the ground.
"What do you even want?!"It paused, I want you.
I didn't have the time to answer, because the door creaked open. My consciousness faded in and out, but eventually I was able to break away from the chains and fight the demon. Arthur tried to jump in, but I kept him trapped against the opposite wall. Well. At least until the demon pinned me against the wall and stabbed me.
Pain had exploded in my abdomen, and I immediately felt the drain of resisting the demon's subjugation.
My vision flickering, I was able to choke out a few curse words aimed at the demon. It's grin widened and eyes flashed blue, facial features becoming familiar in an instant.
"Let's have some fun."
