I stood outside my friend's door with Naksh and Zaid, ready for our group study session. Zaid had insisted on joining us. The moment the door opened, a pillow smacked me square in the face.
My friend Nasir shot a quick glance at me, his eyes then shifting to the direction the pillow had come from. Following his gaze, I saw what could only be described as a charming mess.
Aadya stood there, her eyes wide in shock, lips slightly parted. Her hair was a wild tangle, as if she had been in a tussle with the wind and lost. I couldn't help but stifle a laugh.
She looked like a kid who had just had a scuffle, reminiscent of the fights I used to have with my bestfriend, Jim Jam.
"Sorry about that, Meri Behene pagla gyi hai" Nasir said, stepping aside to let us in.

As we settled on the couch, I couldn't resist glancing at Aadya. She looked at me with a mix of fear and embarrassment, a sheepish smile forming on her lips.
"Hello, Aadya," Naksh greeted her cheerfully. She glanced at him, then back at me, her eyes were still widen as she stared at me.
"Hi," she replied softly, her gaze lingering on me for a moment before she excused herself and hurried up the stairs, I couldn't control but smile at the sight of her flushed cheeks.

"Damn it, Afrin! This is all your fault. Abir saw me like this!" Aadya yelled, staring at herself in the mirror in Afrin's room.
"Humari izzat gatter mai gyi chappak," Afrin laughed and cried dramatically, nudging Aadya and then checking herself out in the mirror.
"What will he think of me now?" Both best friends said in unison, their faces flushed with embarrassment at the thought of their crushes seeing them looking like a mess.
