After their professor dismissed the class, Jisung swiftly rose from his seat and exited without waiting for his friends. He was still embarrassed about the incident earlier. But unlucky for him, he was pulled by Jeongin's arm.
"Meet at the cafeteria?" Jeongin suggested. Jisung thought for a second, then nodded. The bell rang, and they all waved goodbye before splitting up to their classes.
"We'll chat later, Han Jisung," Felix murmured. Full names? Yikes, he's pissed, Jisung thought.
...
Jisung and his friends were now at the cafeteria. They each took food, and after everyone sat down, Felix spoke. "Okay, mind telling us what the fuck is going on inside that little mind of yours?" he asked in an unusual tone.
"There's nothing wrong with my mind," Jisung replied awkwardly, knowing full well what Felix meant.
"There's something wrong. Usually, when there's a crowd, you just try to squeeze through from the side to get to your class," Seungmin added.
"He's right, Ji. Your behavior today was so weird," Jeongin agreed.
They continued to question Jisung's strange behavior until... "Can't you guys calm down first? We haven't even started eating yet," Jisung answered.
"Maybe Jisung is right. We should eat first. I'm starving," Jeongin agreed.
"No!" Felix slammed the table. "I want to know why Han Jisung did that! Didn't I already warn you not to interact directly with the elites?"
Before Jisung could respond, a mysterious figure embraced him from behind, leaving everyone at the table astonished, including Jisung. "Hey there, babe," the newcomer greeted. "Miss me?"
Jisung, startled, exclaimed, "Who the fu- Oh, it's the kinky one."
"WHA KINKY DUDE?" erupted in laughter from his friends.
Amidst the banter, Minho's heart twinged slightly. Why did his words affect me? I don't even know him.
"Why are you here? Shouldn't you be off searching for loyal dogs to serve you?" Jisung inquired.
Minho responded, "Why can't I visit my own brother? Hey Yongbokie, don't forget about next week's meeting."
"YONGBOK?" Jisung, Seungmin, and Jeongin voice echoed all over the cafeteria.
Felix nervously explained, "Well, you see, Minho hyung is my half-brother... surprise?"
A brief silence hung in the air until Felix broke it by asking, "Umm, hyung, why are you here today?"
"Are you deaf, Yongbok? I said don't forget about our meeting next week," Minho retorted.
"It's still next week, you don't need to remind me. WAIT— YOU'RE HERE FOR JISUNG, AREN'T YOU?" Felix exclaimed.
Minho remained silent, avoiding eye contact with Felix.
"LEE MINHO IS IN LOVE!" Hyunjin declared.
"No, I'm not," Minho protested.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever, Minho. So, Lix, can we join you guys? We're starving," Changbin chimed in.
"Sure, I guess."
After everyone settled into their seats, Bangchan took the initiative to make proper introductions. "Alright, as you may know, I'm Chan. The buff guy over there is Changbin, the one with blond long hair is Hyunjin, and that brings us to Minho."
"Are we doing the name thing now?" Felix nodded. "Well, as you guys may already know, the brown-haired boy right there is Seungmin, next to him is Jisung, and the one who didn't talk much is Jeongin."
The elites nodded, and silence filled the table again. "So, do you guys want to hang out after school?" Felix randomly suggested.
"Lix, we just met them today, we barely even remember each other's names," Seungmin remarked while sipping his coffee.
"Even if we hang out after school, I won't be coming," said Jisung.
"Why? Oh, wait, do you have a shift again?" asked Jeongin.
Jisung hummed in response. Honestly, he wasn't eager to go hang out, not because he didn't want to be around Felix and his friends, but he simply wasn't comfortable with new people. Jisung wasn't the type to easily open up to strangers.
Minho's eyes began to light up. "Wait, what about working for me? The pay is excellent, even if you only come once a year, the salary is *** million won per month. Besides, I need a secretary to organize the massive piles of paper in my office," Minho offered.
Everyone at the table stared at Minho, as if he had just uttered something extraordinary. His heart raced as he realized the implications of his offer. What did I just say? Why would I need a secretary? I hardly even go to work. Do I have feelings for him? No, I can't have feelings for him, right? Despite his racing heart, Minho attempted to maintain his composure.
"What? Did I say something strange?" Minho glanced around, looking innocent. "Minho, don't play dumb. We heard exactly what you said," Hyunjin rolled his eyes. "We've known you since childhood, but you've never asked anyone to be your secretary, especially a stranger you just met today! Don't take it to heart, Jisung, you're not a stranger to us now," Chan reassured.
"Haha, don't worry about it, Bangchan hyung. I'm used to it," Jisung waved his hand. "And why would I want to be your secretary, Minho?"
"Because you need fast cash?" Felix interjected. "Jisung, you really need to quit that awful job of yours. Coming home at 1 in the morning every day isn't healthy. It's better to choose to be Minho hyung's secretary."
The revelation that Jisung often returned home at 1 am shocked everyone at the table. Minho couldn't help but worry about Jisung's health. Why am I more concerned about his health than my own? But it's truly unhealthy to come home at 1 am every single day!
"Jisung, you're not going to say no to Minho hyung's offer," Seungmin asserted firmly. "And what if I refuse?" Jisung countered, taking a bite of his sandwich. "You can't force me to do something, not even Felix can convince me."
