As Minho continued to carry Jisung through the corridors of Bangchan's mansion, their friends couldn't help but tease them as they passed by.
"Hey Minho, need a hand carrying Jisung around?" Felix quipped, earning a chorus of laughter from the group.
Minho flashed a grin, playing along with the teasing. "Nah, I've got it covered. Jisung's just enjoying the royal treatment," he replied, earning an exaggerated eye-roll from Jisung.
Chan joined in the fun, pretending to inspect Minho's form. "Make sure you don't strain yourself, Minho. We wouldn't want Jisung to end up with a sore back," he teased, causing Jisung to bury his face in his hands in mock embarrassment.
"Okay jokes aside, Minho please put down Jisung so we could talk about what happened today at the street" Said Changbin still laughing
Minho gently lowered Jisung to his feet, who straightened his clothes with a mock scowl. The group gathered in one of the opulent sitting rooms of Bangchan's mansion, the air filled with the lingering echoes of their laughter.
Changbin, still chuckling, took on a more serious tone. "So, about what happened today on the street. Jisung, do you know anything about those mysterious people?"
"Yeah, Jisung, they did mention that you have some sort of debt to your 'parents'," added Bangchan.
"Well, for starters, I don't know who they are. And second, yes, I do have a million debts to my parents," Jisung answered, his tone a mix of frustration and resignation.
Changbin furrowed his brows, exchanging concerned glances with the others. "A million debts? What are you talking about, Jisung? Are you in some kind of trouble?" he asked, his laughter from earlier replaced with genuine worry.
Jisung sighed, running a hand through his hair. "It's a complicated situation, guys. My family is incredibly wealthy, but they disowned me because of my sexuality. They couldn't accept that I'm gay, and it led to a falling out."
The revelation hung heavy in the air as the group processed the information. Bangchan, despite the seriousness of the situation, maintained a supportive tone. "Jisung, we're here for you. Your sexual orientation doesn't change anything about our friendship. Now, about the debts, can you explain that part?"
Jisung nodded, the weight of his words evident. "After they disowned me, they cut off all financial support. I had to find a way to sustain myself, so I took up multiple jobs and loans just to make ends meet. The debts piled up over time, and that's what I meant by owing them a million. It's a mix of trying to survive on my own and dealing with the fallout of being disowned."
"Why didn't you tell us before?" Asked Seungmin worriedly
"Never came up" the male answered simply
Felix's expression fell as he listened to Jisung's explanation. Guilt washed over him as he realized he hadn't been there for his friend when he needed him most.
"Jisung, I'm so sorry. I'm your own roomate and we have been living under the same roof for the past 3 years. I should have noticed that something was wrong. I should have asked how you were doing, but I was too caught up in my own concerns. I feel like a terrible friend and a terrible roommate."
Felix nodded, his determination resurfacing. "Well, from now on, things are going to be different. I promise to be there for you, no matter what. We're a team, and we'll get through this together."
Chan's curiosity sparked as he remembered something. "Wait, Jisung, you never really told us what your parents do for a living. I mean, how did they become so wealthy?"
Jisung hesitated, crafting his response carefully. "Well, my parents are involved in international business ventures. They've made their fortune through investments and various business dealings."
Changbin raised an eyebrow. "International business, huh? That's impressive. But, Jisung, if you need any help or support, you know we're here for you, okay?"
As Jisung smiled outwardly, his mind churned with guilt and uncertainty. He had only known Bangchan, Minho, Hyunjin, and Changbin for a single day, yet here they were, offering him unwavering support and friendship in the face of his troubles. The weight of his secret about his family's true dealings sat heavily on his conscience.
Despite the warmth of their companionship, Jisung couldn't shake the nagging feeling that he was betraying their newfound trust by withholding the truth. How could he burden them with the knowledge that his parents were deeply entrenched in criminal activities, operating as one of the world's largest mafia syndicates?
As the evening wore on and the conversation shifted, Jisung found himself torn between the relief of having friends to lean on and the fear of exposing them to danger. He knew he couldn't keep his family's dark reality hidden forever, but he also couldn't bear the thought of putting his new friends at risk.
With each passing moment, the weight of his deception grew heavier, gnawing at his conscience like a relentless beast. But for now, he pushed his doubts aside, choosing instead to cherish the fleeting comfort of companionship and solidarity in the face of adversity.
Deep down, however, Jisung knew that eventually, he would have to confront the truth and face the consequences of his silence. Until then, he resolved to make the most of the newfound friendship, treasuring each moment with his new companions while the shadows of his family's secrets loomed ominously in the background.
As the group continued their conversation, Jisung couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt for keeping them in the dark about his family's true nature. But for now, he buried his inner turmoil beneath a facade of normalcy, determined to protect his friends from the dangers lurking in his past.
Suddenly, a loud, rumbling noise erupted from Felix's stomach.
"Um, hehehe... anyone else feeling hungry?" he asked with a sheepish grin.
Chan, the ever-gracious host, smiled warmly at his friends. "Absolutely! Dinner is almost ready. Please, make yourselves at home."
The group followed Chan into the dining room, where a meticulously arranged table awaited them. The air was rich with the mouthwatering scent of various dishes, heightening their anticipation.
Taking his place at the head of the table, Chan surveyed his friends with affection. "So, what are your cravings tonight? We've got quite the spread prepared."
Hyunjin was the first to speak up. "Chan hyung, surprise us! I trust your culinary skills, so I'm game for anything you recommend."
Felix, brimming with enthusiasm, added, "I'm down for whatever, as long as it's delicious!"
However, Jisung felt a knot form in his stomach. He was accustomed to going days without feeling hungry. With a small smile, he said, "I'm not particularly hungry right now, but I'll go with whatever you choose, Channie hyung."
"Are you sure, Jisung?" Chan inquired. "Help yourself as much as you want."
Jisung paused, grappling with how much to share. While he valued Chan's concern, he wasn't ready to reveal his struggles just yet. "Thanks for caring, Chan hyung, but I'm just not in the mood for a feast right now. No need to worry."
