Despite the comfort of Heeseung's embrace, Sunoo's mind continued to reel from the trauma of the cafeteria incident. As they ventured back into the university halls, Sunoo couldn't shake the feeling of unease that gnawed at his insides, a constant reminder of the darkness that lurked just beyond the surface.

But as they rounded a corner, Sunoo's worst fears were realized as he came face to face with the bullies once again. His heart clenched with fear at the sight of their sneering faces, his pulse quickening with the memories of their cruel taunts and mocking laughter.

Heeseung sensed his husband's distress, his own eyes narrowing with determination as he stepped forward to stand by Sunoo's side. "What do you want?" he demanded, his voice laced with a steely resolve.

The bullies exchanged glances, their expressions shifting from arrogance to uncertainty as they faced Heeseung's unwavering gaze. But Sunoo could see the malice burning in their eyes, the same darkness that had threatened to consume him in the cafeteria.

"We just want to talk," one of them sneered, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "Or maybe we want to finish what we started. After all, you wouldn't want your precious Sunoo to get hurt again, would you?"

Sunoo's breath caught in his throat at the threat, his hands trembling with fear as he clung to Heeseung's arm for support. But Heeseung stood tall, his stance unwavering as he faced down their adversaries with a fierce determination.

"You lay a finger on him, and you'll answer to me," Heeseung growled, his voice a low rumble in the tense silence that hung between them.

The bullies faltered at the intensity of Heeseung's words, their bravado crumbling in the face of his unwavering resolve. With a final glance of disdain, they turned and slunk away, their footsteps echoing in the empty hallway as they disappeared from sight.

As the tension slowly dissipated, Sunoo felt a sense of relief wash over him, his shoulders sagging with exhaustion as he leaned into Heeseung's embrace. "Thank you," he whispered, his voice filled with gratitude.

Heeseung wrapped his arms around Sunoo, holding him close as they stood together in the aftermath of their confrontation. "I'll always protect you, Sunoo," he murmured softly, his voice a soothing balm against the lingering shadows. "No matter what."
