Kyoko Kirigiri knew she was going to die soon. Her Forbidden Action was passing the fourth time limit with Makoto Naegi alive. If the Mastermind of this sick game thought she would kill Makoto for her to survive, the Mastermind couldn't be more wrong.

Yes, Makoto was Kyoko's reason for living. But the young detective knew that Makoto's hope could heal the broken world that lay in ruin for four years thanks to Junko Enoshima. Kyoko was scared about dying, but she didn't show it and put a brave face on for Makoto's sake.

Kyoko loved Makoto deeply, and she wished things were different. As she looked at Makoto, having a small laugh with Aoi in this short time of peace, she regretted that their relationship had never progressed.

Kyoko's heart was heavy at this thought. How could they be a couple? Every day meant survival. Working for the Future Foundation was a risky job. Targets from the members of despair were always on their heads.

"If things were only different," Kyoko whispered to herself.

Yes, if only things were different if the world wasn't covered with despair if their memories hadn't been wiped and forced into a Killing Game with random strangers who turned out to be their classmates. Kyoko sighed heavily at the loss of her classmates that she failed to save. Then she thought of her father, Jin Kirigiri. A man she wanted to cut ties with, but in the end, she missed him.

As time drew nearer, Kyoko found a drug made by Seiko Kimura, a drug that would hopefully slow the poison. She didn't know if the drug would save her life, but she was banking on it. So, if this was the ending for Kyoko, a heavy heart with regret is what she would have. But if there was one comfort she could take to her death, it was that she could be with Makoto, the man she loved in her final minutes.

As the sleeping toxins from the bracelets began to kick in, Kyoko managed to get one good at Makoto before her world fell dark for the final time.

Mikan Tsumiki was wandering the halls looking for survivors. She and her classmates, Class 77B, had just finished their rehabilitation back on Jabberwock Island, and they had rushed to the Future Foundation HQ to see if they could help stop the damage and the chaos they caused while being brainwashed.

"Oh, there needs to be at least someone alive down here," Mikan said to herself. "Come on!"

The Ultimate Nurse continued to travel through the halls and came across a door. She opened the door, and she saw Kyoko lying on the floor dead.

Mikan rushed to the Ultimate Detective's lifeless body. "No, no, no," Mikan said as she got onto her knees. "Not another one!" Mikan looked at Kyoko's face. "She was poisoned as well. What the hell is going on in this place?"

Mikan grabbed Kyoko's gloved hand and turned around to check for a pulse. Mikan gasped in surprise when she felt Kyoko's weak pulse.

"Oh, she is alive, just," Mikan said as she looked around the room to see if anyone else was there. There was no one. However, something did catch her eye: a small bottle with a label on it. "Huh, antagonist?" Mikan picked up the bottle. "Did Kirigiri take this to slow the poison? I need to get to work quickly. Kirigiri helped save us. I will do everything in my power to return the favour!"

Kyoko slowly opened her eyes. "Am I?" She failed to finish the sentence when she noticed she was still within the Future Foundation. "I'm still alive... But how?"

Kyoko sat up but winced in pain. "The drug was meant to slow down the poison, not stop it. Either it did, or someone must have saved me. But who?"

Kyoko began to think about who could have saved her. But all thoughts stopped when one name came to mind: "Makoto! I need to find him!" Kyoko stood up, ignoring the pain that was shooting through her body. "I need to know if he is okay."
