Red. Fire. Screaming. Blood. And an absolutely horrendous smell was what stirred (Y/N) from her sleep. You feel your body aching, and an extreme headache reverberates through your skull as though you had fallen from a long distance. Slowly lifting yourself from the ground you rubbed your eyes to try to get rid of the headache, and as the pain began to subside you open your eyes and take in the surroundings.
"What the Hell?", you muttered aloud. You're sat atop a hill overlooking what seemed to be a giant pentagram shaped city. You shakily stood up to get a closer look and stared in amazement at the city.
"Its weirdly really pretty." You think aloud not breaking your gaze away from the view before you. You stare for a while longer than snap out of your daze. "Ok I need to figure out where I am and what's happening." Slowly it started dawning on you as you looked down at your hands which, you realize, were now claws. "Wait a minute...Did I die?"
"Ya' sure did toots." A voice said from behind you. You whip around and saw what looked like a little goblin man chugging an entire bottle of Hennessy on a park bench.
"Uhm... and you are?" (Y/N) asked apprehensively.
"Names Rando but most people call me Rand." He says as he wobbles back and forth on the bench.
"Oh... ok Rand I'm (Y/N). Its nice to meet you." You hold out your hand politely to which Rand cocked his eyebrow at and then went back to his bottle. You slowly drop your hand upon seeing his refusal to reciprocate. Clearing your throat, you try to break the awkward silence in the air.
"So...Rand, could you tell me where I am?" you questioned rocking back and forth on your feet which you now realize are pointed in an almost unnatural manner.
"What are ya' stupid? This is hell dumbass." He spits out annoyed and starts muttering something under his breath about a "dumb broad ruining his early morning drink".
Your eyes widen as you stand there gawking at the little devil man. "Hell? No... no that can't be right..." You mutter looking at the horrors around you. "I'm not supposed to be here.." You think aloud. You sit down next to Rand on the bench as you take it all in.
"HA! That's a laugh. If you're here, then that's how it's supposed to be. Now get the fuck out of here, and let me finish my drink. I don't want to deal with some bitchy new arrival." He tries swatting you away, but he's too drunk to even muster a wave.
"Right... sorry.." you say slowly standing and then turn to him. "Could you at least tell me how to get to the city?"
"Jesus Christ lady, just go down that road and it'll take you there. NOW PISS OFF!" You jump in surprise at his volume, and stare as he flicks you off dramatically before passing out on the bench. After your initial shock you walk over to Rand and put a nasty old jacket that was lying on the ground on top of him to keep him warm.
Letting out a large shaky breath you prepare yourself as you stare at the city ready to see what's in store... "This fucking sucks."
Oh, how right you were. You had to hike a bit to make it to the city, but you eventually made it slightly sweaty and panting. The sight that greeted you when you entered was nothing less than what you'd expect in hell. Cannibals, murderers, turf wars, and the occasional couple getting it on right in front of the general public. You try to hide your disgust as you traverse the large city narrowly avoiding muggers, and freaks that wanted to "Fuck you senseless" as they put it. When walking you noticed a big crowd around what looked to be a tv store and decide to join out of curiosity.
The Tv's were showing a news station featuring a tall blonde woman who creepily grinned into the camera as she said her opening lines. "Good morning! I'm Katie Killjoy." she said enthusiastically. "And I'm Tom Trench!" Her cohost didn't look any better with a suit and gas mask that covered his face.
"News just in that the Princess of hell caused havoc in the greed district while trying to convince major politicians to put their money into her newly found passion project." Tom Trench announces.
"That's right Tom! After the announcement of the next extermination being closer than ever Charlie Morningstar, daughter of Lucifer Morningstar, is trying to recruit more sinners to her cause. The Hazbin Hotel as she puts it, 'is a place that rehabilitates sinners for the chance to be sent to heaven.' So far none of her methods have worked, because no one in their right mind would join the hotel even if that dumb bitch wasn't running it." Katie Killjoy cocks her head to the side so aggressively her neck cracks as though it was dislocated.
"Next up ! Talk of Osmodeus' new line of dildos where we'll get the inside scoop on him and his boy toy- Fizzarolli! After these messages." Tom Trench reads as the screen cuts to commercials about Imp hitmen for hire. You stare dumbfounded trying to process all the information thrown at you. One thing stands out to you though. The princess of hell is sending sinners to heaven through something called the 'Hazbin Hotel'.
'If I can convince them I'm a good person maybe she can send me to heaven.' Your eyes widen and you smile as you punch your fist determinedly into your other hand. After a lot of asking around and running from drunk people wanting to throw their empty bottles at you, you finally found your way to the hotel.
It stands at the edge of pentagram city (which you found out is the name of the city). The building looks older from the outside. It looks like it was taken right out of the great depression era with its old architecture and outdated sign that's lit up with light bulbs reading 'Hazbin Hotel'.
You walk up to the old entrance, and stare up at the big door before you. A wave of anxiousness runs through you and you hope these folks are far nicer than the people you met in the city. Swallowing the lump in your throat, and letting out a deep sigh you prepare yourself as you knock politely on the door.
