Dinner went well. Everyone sat at the table, laughing and joking. Clem, Duck and Aj had fun getting to know everyone and getting a feel for their personalities.
So far no one seemed to bat an eye at Clementine signing to them, and with Ruby knowing sign language herself those two fell into their own fun conversation. Duck had to be honest with himself on how he felt about Louis.
Sure the dude was funny and he could tell was definitely the light of the party, but he still couldn't shake the feeling that the boy was flirting with Clem, no matter how many times Clementine brushed it off.
Before long dinner was over and Violet was inviting people to play a card game with her. Aj had since moved to a different table with Tenn, which both Clem and Duck loved to see. He had never been around anyone his age, so it was good seeing him having fun.
Duck and Clem themselves had decided to join in the game, Marlin, Violet and Louis were playing. The rules were simple enough and both of them were enjoying the way the night was unfolding so far.
Everyone picked their card for the first round, and Clem had pulled the winning card, giving her the first question of the game.
As always she signed and Duck translated for the group.
Duck chuckled already knowing what her question was.
"Share with the group, come on!" The boy was very giddy.
"She wants to know what's up with your hair Marlin!" Duck got out through his own chuckles.
The blonde boy seemed taken aback. "What do you mean?"
"She means it looks like a dead rat crawled on your head and died." Violet's comments did nothing to make Duck's chuckled subside, cause now he really could see a dead rat sitting atop Marlin's dome.
"Damn she coming for you hard my boy." He said, finally calming himself down.
"Well what about your hair Duck? Mine looks cool."
"My hair? Oh please my shit is lucious and smells like berries." He flicked his hair with his wrist sassily. "I'll never part with it as long as I live."
Clementine chimed in. "He's right, its soft and smells good."
"Did she just agree with you!? Ah shit Marlin you're outnumbered." Louis joined in on the jokes.
"Just pull a damn card." Marlin grumbled. He was clearly done being the butt of the joke.
The group did so, this time Violet won. "Eat my ass losers."
"Ew. I'll pass." Duck spoke, making Louis burst into more giggles from his end of the table, even Marlin cracked a smile.
"I like this guy, we're keeping him." Louis said.
Violet cleared her throat before asking her question. "Out of the ones at this table, which one of us will die first?"
Instantly Louis's smile fell. "What the fuck Vi?"
"It's a fair question." She defended herself, then waited for her answer from the two.
Clementine signed first. "Probably you."
"Gotdamn Clem." Duck chuckled before translating. Violet didn't seem to like her answer much though, but she bit her tongue and waited for Duck's.
"I say..." He looked around the table before his eyes landed on the dreadhead. "Definitely Louis."
Violet smiled, "Now that I can agree!"
"Me too." Louis chuckled before pulling his next card, completely oblivious to everyone's worried glances. "Next!"
