Rant About Reality

I really like exploring the topics of reality. Even the usual boring things like "Reality is a simulation!" can be interesting if you think about it. What if, reality is a simulation? But what if there's more to it? Sometimes it genuinely feels like you're one of the only real people and everyone else is fake. It's scary, honestly, because it makes you feel really isolated from everything and the world around you. But you know how sometimes you have random thoughts about simulated reality, and you start to come up with these theories and weird ideas? What if, that's the people outside of the simulation putting thoughts in our head to try and help us out? It may be a bit far-fetched, but that's one of the very few joys of overthinking. Theories like this are the things that keep me up at night, have me wondering whether even my closest friends are real. Of course, I usually jump to the assumption that all the people I care for are real and everyone else is fake, but what if that's not true? What if my friends, family, pets, aren't real?

You know when you catch someone staring at you for a while for no real reason? What if they're one of the robots, and they're scanning our facial features to see if we're one of them? Sometimes I fear that if I don't blend in with the "robots" then they'll notice I'm out of line and do something to me. I don't know what – Maybe kill me. Turn me into one of them? I'd never know unless it happened, which is the joy of theories! You never know if they're true or not. A lot of the times, when I get anxious about this kind of stuff, I think to myself "It doesn't really matter if this is a simulation, because these thoughts are probably being programmed as well." Because why have a simulation without full control? I may very well be being made by someone outside of the simulation to write this and have these thoughts. Again, I'll never know. Mainly because it's almost impossible to prove right or wrong, but also because no smart person outside of the simulation would allow a human inside to have free thoughts or control over themselves and what's around them. That's enough about simulations, though.

What about the Egg theory? I can't remember it perfectly, but the Egg theory comes from a book written by Andy Weir about what happens when you die. To sum it all up, a man, who is set to be the reader, dies and goes to heaven. God, who is referred to as "me" in the first person, tells him he's going to be reincarnated as a different person from a different time period. He also tells him that there are other deities elsewhere. He says that he has lived the life of everyone around him, and after he has lived the life of everyone, he will be born as a god, like the others. Basically, the universe is just an "egg" for the main characters, which is everyone (basically just you). It's interesting and I could write so much about it, but I won't since this is basically a whole paragraph already.

But what if none of these are true? Maybe we're in a coma right now? Do you ever hear someone calling you, when really no one did? Maybe people are trying to wake you up. There's been a few stories through time about being living full fake lives in their head within a matter of minutes – Could you imagine how weird you'd feel? To wake up, realising the past "ten years" of your life were fake? It'd be hard to tell real memories from the fake. It's a valid idea though, but I can probably confidently say I'm NOT in a coma right now, as I'm still in school and I'd be absolutely amazed if I managed to teach myself everything, I've learnt so far without any prior knowledge. Same goes to the theory that everyone around us is a figment of our imagination. Well, if they are, I can't believe I invented maths, English, AND every other language in the world! Props to myself for that! (If the theory is true, of course.)

Okay, bam, done. Seeya baddies 😍💞!!
