"Jared! Don't run off too far, okay!" A woman yelled at the small boy running to the playground. There was a slight warm breeze brought by the summer air.
"Mya!" He ran up to a little brown eyed girl.
"Jared! Great, you wanna play hide and seek with us." There was a small gathering of children now.
"Sure."
"Well since you're just joining your it." Mya smiled proudly.
"What, Noooo."
"Mya, you'r it, you lost fair and square. You do this every time." An annoyed kid crossed his arms as he scolded her.
"Oh come on." Mya pleaded.
"yeah, its your turn." Another tuned in, crossing her arms as well. Almost as if she was mimicking the first child. Mya finally agreed. Her eyes shut and she began to count down from sixty. All of the others darted off in different directions. Jared ran toward the trees. Once reaching them he quickly jumped behind a large bush and peeked out to watch the little girl search.
She went to the play structure first. The blond little boy watched from the bush as Mya quickly found one, two, and then three other kids. He saw the third kid lean over to Mya's ear and point to his hiding spot. "That tattle tale!" He snapped quietly. Then in an effort to win Jared headed deeper into the trees. 'There's no way they'll follow me here.' He thought smartly to himself. His face held a great grin on it as he ran and continuously looked back. Jared dodged trees, rocks and bushes. It was like he was making a grand escape and Mya and the other kids were the security trying to capture him.
He was caught up in the moment when he looked back causing him to run head first into something. The kid fell back landing on the soft ground.
"Jeez, kid watch where you're going." A tall pale man looked down toward the small child.
"S-sorry sir." A chill filled the air.
"Now look. I am even later than I was before." He checked a slick black watch that was tided to his wrist. Looking back down at the kid his face softened from a scowl to a kind smile. "Sorry for frightening you. I am just very late for a meeting." He tipped his odd white hat to the boy.
"I-I'm sorry for making you late." Jared finally spoke. Even though the man seemed kind the boy still couldn't get over his bright red eyes and strange top hat. He stood. Then with his fear starting to leave he spoke again. "I'm Jared, what's your name mister?"
"My name is Karma" There seemed to be a sort of arrogance that came when he announced who he was. His smile dampened a little as he checked the time again. "You are continuing to make me even more late." He gave the child a serious look. "How do you plan to make up for this?"
"U-um well I'm sorry for making you late." He repeated.
"A simple sorry isn't going to cut it. You will have to repay me for my wasted time. How about this one day in the future I will come asking for your help. You will do so as repayment for this incident." Karma reached his hand out to the boy. A second of silence came. "We're supposed to shake on it."
"Oh okay." Jared shook the mans cold hand. Then in no more than a blink of an eye the man vanished into thin air. The little blond boy stood there confused. He didn't really understand what had just happened. So he stood for a second, thought of how strange the man was and ran back to the play area.

"Jared!" A woman yelled as she began to walk toward the trees.
"Mrs. Cana, we sure we saw him run into the trees." Mya looked toward the woods as she spoke. The woman yelled for her son again before a small figure emerged from the bushes.
"Jared! Where were you. I told you not to run off too far." As she walked swiftly up to the boy the other kids snickered at the trouble he was in.
"I was talking to this strange red eyed man, who vanished into thin air. His name was Karma." Jared explained.
"Enough of your games. Do not run off again or else." His mother grabbed his hand and walked him back to the play set.
