For the first time in a long while, you chose to watch the sunset.
You stared off in a daze at the angelic skies. The various shades of yellows, and oranges, and reds adorning the heavens far above you. And for just a brief minute, you felt at peace with the world. As if you could die freely.Perhaps you could've.
But you didn't.
Instead, you continued fawning over the moment; The soft breeze that ran past you, the comforting warmth from the sun that embraced you, the demure presence that stood lurking just beside you. You didn't bother looking at it. You were too afraid. Afraid that if you made even the smallest movement, or let your gaze wander, that it would all disappear, dissolve into just another daydream.
You loved the sky, and in that moment, you felt like it loved you too.
...For the first time in a long while, you chose to watch the sunset.
And it
was
Beautiful.
