•°. *࿐ as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the rolling waves, 17-year-old Amara stood at the edge of the beach, her heart heavy with the weight of her past and the uncertainty of her future. with her face to the crashing waves, she took a deep breath, steeling herself for the journey ahead.
her mother, a narcissist consumed by her own desires and ambitions, had made amaras life a living hell. always belittling her, undermining her accomplishments, and demanding perfection in everything she did, amara had spent years trying to earn her love and approval, only to be met with disappointment and disdain. to make matters worse, her mother's odd-looking alcoholic boyfriend added to the chaos, his unpredictable behavior creating an atmosphere of fear and instability in a place she should consider home.
but tonight, everything changed. with a duffel bag slung over her shoulder and a sense of determination burning in her chest, amara left her mother behind, never looking back. she knew she couldn't continue living at that place, in the shadow of her mother's toxicity, and she needed to find her own path, away from the suffocating confines of her past.
"but where the fuck to go" amara whispered to herself.
as amara stood up on the beach, she felt the wind brush her face and she could of sworn she heard it whisper her name.
her mind then drifted back to the drunken ramblings of her mother. amidst the slurred words and fragmented sentences, one recurring theme stood out: her father.
