Chap. 1: Special guest

3rd Person POV:

Y/N was playing hide and seek with her dad, as her mom called both of them over. Surak, Y/N's father, scooped his 2 year old up and headed over to his wife, Zana.

"Papa, I can walk by myself!!", little Y/N kicked around with her short legs. Her father chuckled at her behaviour and let her down, "My daughter is so grown up, now she doesn't even want me to hold her anymore.", he said as he made fake sobbing noises. Y/N puffed up her chest and told him proudly "I am a strong, strong water bender, and I will be Queen of the North and South Pole!!"

Zana, who was impatiently waiting yelled out to both of her family members "CAN YOU GUYS HURRY UP?! FOR SPIRITS SAKE!". "CaN yOu gUyS hUrRy uP?? FoR sPiRiTs SaKe!" Her husband mocked her playfully but quiet just so his only daughter could hear him. "Hehehe! I'm telling momma." She giggled and ran to her mother.

Just so Surak could run after her, and act out cries for her to stop. "Mommy! Daddy, mocked you! Like this: CaN yOu gUyS hUrRy uP?? FoR sPiRiTs SaKe!" She snitched on her dad, as Zana sent glared at Surak, who had stopped in his tracks and started sweating. She sighed and smiled a bit, "Oh, he's gonna regret that!". All for her daughter to laugh proudly saying "First Mission completed!! Criminal Papa is getting his punishment from Chief Mama!".

The criminal then asked what she called both of them over for. "Oh, right. We're having a few friends of me and Papa come over later. I'll need your help cleaning and stuff. And there will be a new friend for you, my little otter." Zana explained, throwing in a nickname for her daughter, to which she giggled. "New friend?? Mission cleaning up, started!! Come on criminal papa!!" She said, as she pointed her index up in the air, squatting with eyes closed.

(After cleaning up, and the guests arrive)

„Tonraq, Senna!! It's so nice to see you after so long. Oh, your little one is so cute." Zana greeted as she saw her old friends arrive. Short after her husband greeted them, too. „Senna, Tonraq. Long time no see." Senna smiled at them, and then asks „Yes, it's really nice, Zana and Surak. Where is your little one? Tonraq and I are very excited to make both of them meet." Tonraq nodded. „Yes, we have. Since we told Korra about it she has been burning to see Y/N."

The four of them laughed, as Korra spotted Y/N hiding behind Surak, holding onto him. She has always been shy.

„Hey, you! I can see you, dumbass!" She laughs in victory of finding her future best friend. Tonraq tugs on her arm, „Korra, that's nothing nice to say. Apologise to her." Senna also nods at her daughter to go ahead and do what her husband suggested. „How old is she?" Zana then answers „She's 2, but she's turning 3, soon."

They nod, as they watch Korra apologise and see them run off to play.

„Aww, aren't they just cute!!" Senna and Zana awed at the sight of their children playing together.

Y/N's POV: (3 years later, Y/N 5: Korra 6, at the white lotus camp)

„Let's build a snow table with snow teacups, snow teapots, snow plates, snow guests and play snow tea party!" I suggested to Korra. She rolled her eyes. „That's boring." she said, getting an idea and smiling mischievously. Soon after I was hit with a water bended snowball in my face. I threw one back, with less force since I can't waterbend. Then Korra threw a bigger one, with enough force to throw me down.

I now had big waterdrops rolling down my cheeks. „Korra, that's not fair! I-I can't waterbend." I sobbed.

Korra stuck her tongue out to me and threw a bigger one back and I was fuming at the audacity. Suddenly, i stopped the big ball mid air and threw it back forcefully. She fell down in surprise, as my own jaw dropped and I was looking down at my hands.

„D-did I just.. waterbend?" I asked Korra and she nodded, with shock written all over her face. That face soon changed into an overly happy one.

„YOU'RE A WATERBENDER!!" She yelled, as she tackled me down to the floor in a hug. „We need to tell everyone!! C'mon!" She said as she dragged me up and forced me to run in with her.

„MAMA! PAPA!!" I ran into the room, where my parents were sitting on a couch, chatting with Korras parents. Everyone looked at me and Korra shocked. „Did something happen, Y/N?" My papa asked.

„Yes!! I can water bend!! Watch me!" I said as they rolled their eyes with grins on their faces, remembering the other times i said it and then threw snow in their faces. But this time it was true!

Their grins disappeared, as I bended the tea out of their cups and made sloppy figures with it and put it back in their cups. Their mouths were wide open as I posed proudly infront of them.

„Y-Y/N! You can water bend!!" Momma said proudly as she ran up to me hugging me tight. It took my dad a bit to take in the information before walking up to me and joining in on the hug. „I'm so proud of you!"

Uncle Tonraq and Auntie Senna clapped proudly. „Now Korra can teach you some stuff!" Senna said as Tonraq nodded and congratulated. „Congrats, Y/N. We knew you would be just like Surak!" He laughed.

🦦 timeskip again (11 years later)

Korra's POV:

"WHOOHOO!! hey, why all the gloom and doom, people?! We should be celebrating!" I yelled excitedly, happy to have finished my fire bending test. "Three elements down, one to go."

"You're getting ahead of yourself, as usual, Korra. We haven't decided if you have passed your firebending test yet." That old, red wearing man told me.

Then the blue eyed, old man spoke. "Ever since you were a little girl, you've excelled at the physical side of bending but completely ignored the spiritual side." he shortly paused to get some breat. Meanwhile Y/N just rolled her eyes, almost making me giggle. "The avatar must master both."

"I haven't ignored it. It just doesn't come as easy to me, but that's why I should start training with Tenzin immediately. He's Mr. Spiritual!" I argued, I just wanna start air bending! What the heck does spiritual even mean??

The blue old man stepped forward. "Do you believe she's ready, master Katara?" he then asked, facing questioned person.

With barely any hesitation she answered! "Yes, If anyone can teach her what she needs to learn, it's Tenzin." And she flashed her signature smile. I could see Y/N almost jumping up and down up and down.

"Very well, Korra. It's time for you to begin your air bending training." The white lotus man told me.

"YES, FINALLY!!" I shouted. Aaaaand then it was awkward. "I mean... Thank you all for believing in me."

I then flashed a smile at Y/N, for her to follow me. We ran off to Naga, laughing as she congratulated me.

"I knew you could do it, Korra. There was not even a spark of doubt." She said hugging me and jumping around before returning to her running. She was always the supportive best friend I loved.

"Naga, you should have seen it. I kicked some firebender butt, and I passed!" I said and we all celebrated.
