This is one of those rainy days, where the sky is gray and everything looks kind of depressing. The second month of the year has already started, even though it feels like New Year was yesterday. The popular saying goes "Time flies when you're having fun", but honestly, time just flies. I will tell a little about my story, my childhood, the friends I have made along the way, as well as some other experiences. From what I can remember, I had a great childhood. I was born in Brazil 16 years ago in a State called Paraná. I have three siblings (two sisters and a brother) and I am the oldest one. My extended family isn't that big, and still, I don't have contact with a lot of them. I was close to a girl called Isabel, she and I were like best friends, we did everything together and our families were very close. I always envied her, for having stuff I didn't and I know that it wasn't on purpose, but it hurt when she didn't stop talking about it. When we lived in Brazil back then, our family was financially stable, but we still couldn't afford a lot. That didn't mean, that I was a sad kid, not at all. I love my parents and can't thank them enough for everything they have given us throughout my life. Isabel was always a very shy girl and I was the most energetic kid around. Like my energy never ran out and hers, oh well, she either had very low energy or never showed her true potential. Still, we became quite close and I can vividly remember a lot of things we did together. Sleepovers, going to each other's house, seeing each other at church, countless birthday parties, and going out for lunch or dinner with our families. I have to admit that I sometimes miss those times. Only later, did I learn, how many sacrifices our family had made, to continue this strong bond between our families, and little did I know, how everything would turn out in the end. I was nine years old when we moved to Sweden. That was the first step to losing contact and I was devastated.
