The last thing that Harry remembers was just seeing black, as he hit the ground hard enough to rattle some bones. Still confused about how his body seized up and stopped working, confused about what had happened, and honestly, a little pissed that something just HAD to happen. Just HAD to burst his 'normalcy' bubble.
Harry opened his eyes, peering out into the very recognizable Hospital Wing. Ron and Hermione were holding each other to the side of him, in a deep conversation.
"What. The. FUCK." Harry scream-whispered, not having much of a voice.
"Harry! You're awake! Let me get Madame Pomphrey." Hermione rushed off to the nurse's desk.
"Blimey, Harry! What in the hell was that?!"
"You tell me! I have no idea what happened out there."
"Well, we don't know just yet. We all saw you go stiff and not move. It was like you were a statue. And before anyone reacted, you fell off and hit the ground. Ginny stopped the tryouts immediately and we got you here as soon as possible."
"But no one knows what happened to me? Someone must have seen something?? All of a sudden, I was paralyzed. I couldn't move, couldn't speak, couldn't control anything. It was like someone cast 'petrificus totalus ' on me, for Merlin's sake!!" Harry sighed, frustrated.
"That's EXACTLY what happened!" Surprisingly, Draco appeared, running around the corner into the room. "They investigated the team mates and looked at their last cast spells. That seeker git cast that on you so he could capture the snitch and keep his spot." Draco panted out, having run up several flights of stairs.
"Are you KIDDING ME?! That's bloody bullshit!"
"I know, Harry. Apparently he thought it was the only way to win his spot."
"Wait, how did you find out? Who told you?"
"I.. um... have my ways. I heard McGonagal talking about it. She's going to talk to him right now."
"Was he really trying to kill me? He can't be stupid enough to think that casting on me would leave me unharmed ON A BROOM?!!"
"I'm not sure. She said something about involving the ministry if she needs to. But that's all I heard."
"Why can't I make it longer than 2 months without someone trying to kill me? Do I have a perpetual bullseye on my back??"
"Now, now, Harry. It's going to be alright. The good thing is that the fall wasn't super high. Madame Pomfrey says that you look to be in good shape despite it. But, she wants to keep you overnight.." Hermione said, as she came back into his curtained area.
"Like I haven't spent enough nights in here to last me a lifetime." Harry said solemnly, biting back his anger at the situation.
"I know mate. But it's just a night, right? And besides, you got your seeker position back?" Ron offered a crooked smile, bracing for more anger.
"Madame Pomfrey told us that we have to get going. It's getting late. Are you going to be okay?" Hermione looked nervous, like he was going to disappear before her eyes.
"Yes, I'll be fine. Thank you all for sitting with me."
Hermione and Ron gave him a hug before leaving, faintly waving at Draco before exiting.
Harry turned to Draco, who was still standing in the entryway of his cubicle.
"Thank you for finding out what happened. And for coming to watch tryouts today. I'll be honest, I never expected that."
"Well. If I'm being honest, I have always been jealous of how effortless you make flying look. I thought that I should reframe it as a positive thing, something I could learn from. So I wanted to see you get back on the team."
"You say that like you knew for certain I would." Harry chuckled.
"Well, I wouldn't put bets on anyone else." Draco laughed back.
"Well anyways, thanks."
"Mr. Malfoy! Visiting hours are over!"
"Well, I guess I should leave before she has a conniption. I'll see you later."
"See you.."
Draco left with a small wave.

Harry woke with a start, having jumped out of his skin at the nightmare he was having. This one was nothing new. More montages of Sirius' face through the veil, Bellatrix coming after him, the same old things that have been haunting him for years. Harry noticed that it was still pitch black, meaning it was the middle of the night. He reached for his glasses and flipped over to see Draco, of all people, sleeping in the chair besides his bed.
'What in Merlin...?'
Harry looked around to check that Madame Promfrey wasn't in the hospital wing. "Draco?... Draco?... Wake up!" Harry whisper-screamed. It was enough to rouse Draco in a startle. "Wha?? WHAT?? What's happening?!!!"
"Shhhh! You'll wake Madame Pomfrey."
Draco shook his head and rubbed his eyes.
"Draco, what are you doing here??"
Draco looked at Harry with a guilty look on his face before looking down at his feet.
"I.. um... I uh.. I was... worried about you. And I couldn't sleep. So I just decided to check on you. But I guess I passed out too...sorry. I'll go." Draco stood up quickly, about to bound out of the hospital wing.
"WAIT. You don't have to leave. I was just surprised, that's all.."
Draco slowly turned and sat back down, looking at Harry curiously.
"What time is it anyways?"
"Um, 3:35 am."
"Damn. How much sleep have you gotten?"
"I dunno. Probably about two hours. Which is a lot for me these days."
"That's not healthy, you know."
"I'm well aware. It's not like I'm choosing to not sleep. Plus, you're one to talk. I see those bags under your eyes, you know. And when I got in here, you were ranting and raving and tossing about."
"Sleep hasn't ever been a great thing for me... Does anything help you sleep?"
"Not really. Besides apparently someone being near me. Someone that isn't my family. But other than that, I haven't found much."
"Me either. I've always envied Ron. He can sleep anywhere, in any circumstances, at any time, in mere seconds."
"Well, it seems he would need that skill to get any sleep around you." Draco laughed.
"Wait, you don't have anyone in your dorm room with you?"
"Um.. no. Not this year."
"Wow. You would think they would put you with 7th years or something?"
"Ah well. I like my space. Less opportunity to mess with me too."
"Well, you can stay here and sleep in the chair some more if you want. But if you do, I would wake up at like 6:30 am and get out of here before Madame Pomfrey sees you."
"Oh, um.. thanks."
Draco got back into his sleeping position on the chair, quickly dosing back off.
'Worried? About me?? I would have never guessed in a million years that I would hear those words come out of Draco's mouth...'
Harry laid back down, pulling the covers back over him. He fell back asleep to the sound of Draco's breathing.
