After her brother had given words of encouragement, Jaelyn crawled out of her bed and opened a sliding door to a large balcony.  She stared intently at the glowing orange sunset outside.

Jaelyn: Wow~ :o

Joshua stood beside her.

Joshua: Woah~ Pretty, huh?

Jaelyn: Yeah...it's gorgeous.

Joshua: I'm definitely going to miss these sunsets- 〒▽〒

Jaelyn: (sits) Heheh! Me too. I always feel peaceful when I look at them.

Joshua: That makes two of us.

A cold, short breeze blew over the hot lava air in Volcano Rock City.

Both: WIIIIIIIIIIND!

Joshua: Aaaa, that's nice~

Jaelyn: Oh yeah~

Joshua sat beside Jaelyn on the balcony's floor. She leaned on his shoulder. There was a moment of silence.

Jaelyn: Bro?

Joshua: Yes?

Jaelyn: Can we watch the sunset every night until you leave?

Joshua: Of course we can! Why do you ask?

Jaelyn: Well, because.... because I'm not gonna see you for at least a year. We're going to be apart for a while, so I want to spend as much time as I can with you now. I love you.

He started to feel emotional by seeing his sister upset.  The memories of them hanging out replayed through his mind. It would take a while to adjust; he was secretly dreading the day of his deployment. He cleared his throat before responding.

Joshua: I love you too, sis. So much. Look... it's going to be okay, all right? We'll have the best week ever together.

Jaelyn: And... when we're apart?

Joshua: We can call, text, FaceTime; there's a lot of options. We'll figure it out. Just know that I'm not going to stop talking to you while I'm deployed. If anything, I'll be a pain in your bum from blowing up your phone with texts. ;)

Jaelyn: (giggles) I'll be blowing up your phone with texts AND voicemails. >:D

They both laughed hard and gave each other a short hug. The siblings stayed on their balcony for about an hour, enjoying each other's company and taking in the beautiful sunset. After this time passed, black and purple colors popped up in the sky, and stars were becoming visible.
