Y/N'S POV
I looked up at my clock on the wall and saw that it was past midnight so like clockwork, I set my pencil down and tossed my sketchbook aside, and stretched my aching back. I heard a few crunches in my back and walked out of my room and downstairs. Seeing all the lights off, I knew my parents were asleep and saw my older sister sleeping on the couch.

I quietly snuck out to the entry and put my sneakers on. As I quietly left the house, I shut the door behind me and locked it while slipping my key into my hoodie pocket. I inhaled the fresh night air into my lungs, enjoying the night before having to go back inside. I walked down the quiet neighborhood and was looking up at the stars in wander. 'How could something so far away, shine so bright?' I marveled at the night sky, making a small smile appear but then quickly receded as my reality came back.

My family wasn't one that could get along well... at least I didn't. 'It seems like I just don't belong anywhere. My friends incord me but I still feel like a stranger when I am around them. Maybe that's just how I am?' I pondered that question as I walked down the cement. I bit my lip in thought as I walked.

I suddenly felt eyes on me so I decided to trail them into an abandoned building, that no one had lived in, since the early 1920s. At least that's what an old man had told me, once before on the bus. I could still feel their eyes on my figure as I walked into the building.

The building was an old stone brick building, so the foundation of the building was far stronger then a normal house and hence why it is still standing today. The inside was dusty, just like always with chipping paint on the walls. The grey cement was bare on the floor as they took the floorboards off as they were rotten. I saw empty beer bottles, laying on the floor and decided to grab one and walked upstairs. The building was said to be an old shop, that first started the town but I questioned why they didn't sell it to someone. 'Maybe because they wanted to preserve it?'

Quickly, I made my way upstairs, I heard the front door squeak open, quietly. I snuck into an appartment upstairs and carefully slid through a where the door would have been had it been attached. Once inside the small appartment, I crept into the bedroom and saw an open closet. I slipped into the closet, trying my best not to disturb any of the debris that could hint about where I hid.

The closet was small as I didn't have any room to move without some light hitting me by accident. I stayed against the wall of the closet, keeping my breathing slow and calm. Underneath my shoes was broken glass from a bottle of beer, I think.

I could slightly hear footsteps as whoever this was, walking around. I took deep breaths in through my nose and gripped the beer bottle in my hand, a little bit tighter.

Then I saw a shadow move across the closet opening and held the empty beer bottle up to my chest, ready to hit them if they discovered my placement. They stood still for a second before walking past the closet. I listened to their footsteps as they walked around the room. I heard voices downstairs and tried to listen but to no avail. I didn't know if it was someone that was with the person following me or if they were another party all together. I saw the person slip by the closet in a split second. 'Had I blinked, I would've missed them.' When they ghosted past, I felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. 'Something isn't right.'

Then footsteps started trekking up the stairs. "Right... in here...?" A female voice spoke clearly intoxicated as she laughed for no apparent reason.

"Yeah, baby." I heard a male voice speak. I knew where this was going as I heard a creeking of the old bed that laid in the room. I quickly and quietly slipped out of the closet and out the appartment, without making a sound as to not display my location.

I knew it was time to head back and hopefully go to sleep. 'Where did they go?' Was one of my concerns as I snuck down the old hall and was about to go down the stairs when I heard someone scream.

This jogged my memory to run out of the building and down the street. I was smart as I ran out the back of the building as to avoid being suspicious of whatever happened back there. I slowed my running down to a stop as I leaned against a tree in the park. I was breathing heavily as now that I realize it, the scream could have been from the girl caused from pleasure. But something just felt completely off as that person was following me. I hoped that it wasn't the later. I sat down on the ground in the tree's shadow and slowly calmed myself down.

After a couple of minutes, I saw something staring at me from behind a tree. It looked like it was a male but then I recalled those shadow things that sometimes just appear and just watch you like a stalker. I pushed my glasses up and rubbed my eyes and looked again to see that it was gone. I looked around once more, to see if it just moved but I couldn't see it anywhere. I sighed and stood up, using the tree to lean on and started walking away from the park and back to my house. I didn't see anything nor did I feel anything that was off putting as I quietly walked up to the yellow house, in the dark. I quietly placed the key into the lock and opened it, stepping inside.

I locked the door and took my sneakers off and snuck up to my room and shut the bedroom door behind me. As soon as I locked the door, I slid underneath the covers and fell asleep.

Questions
What do you think the old building was used for? Who do you believe your stalker to be? Why do you think there was a scream when you left theold building? Do you think they will come back? Who was the shadow that watched you from afar but disappeared shortly after?
