Draco shivered, his black leather boots crunching and treading through the few inches of snow in Hogsmeade Square.
Pansy had insisted on meeting up with the "Golden Trio" today, and confronting Harry about what happened on Valentines Day.
Draco lowered his head, glancing at Pansy's flats and Blaise's boots, the two Slytherin's keeping Draco in the middle. He really didn't want to go. As pathetic as it sounds, any time he thinks about it, he feels like curling into a ball and weeping.
"Draco."
Draco looked over at Blaise, whose eyes were directed firmly at the other side of the bridge the trio had stopped upon.
Pansy locked her arm around Draco's, causing a thick pit of uneasiness to settle in his gut.
"Let us do the talking," Pansy whispered, her voice ragged and angry.
Draco nodded lightly, lowering his head again as the growing sound of snow grew closer. He inhaled, putting on a casual pokerface. He lifted his head, staring the nearing kids in the eyes.
When Draco locked eyes with Harry, the brunette looked away almost shamefully. The corner of Draco's lip lifted in a coy smirk.
"Pansy, Blaise. What're we here for?" Hermione asked.
Ron nodded his head, protesting, "It's colder than Snape's love life out here!"
Draco looked away, masking a snicker. Although he would never come to admit it, but Weasley is always funny, no matter the situation.
Pansy lifted her chin to the Gryffindor girl, a hateful glare on her face. Hermione's expression was all Draco needed to straighten himself.
The look on her face was a mixture of confusion and fear.
"Oh, Hermione. Harry hasn't told you about what he said?" Pansy growled, emitting a small chuckle from Blaise.
Draco looked over to said brunette, noticing the bob of his Adam's Apple. Harry was clearly nervous.
Draco watched a scowl form on Hermione's face as she turned to Harry. Draco and Ron made minute eye contact, and the redhead shrugged respectfully.
Draco began to feel better about himself. Pansy and Blaise were right to confront them. He stared at Harry straight on, his gaze never wavering, even when the brunette made eye contact.
"Well," Blase began, "out of the kindness of Draco's heart, he went to check on Harry in the bathroom on Valentine's Day, right?"
Draco turned to look at Hermione and Ron, whom both replied with, "Right."
Pansy squeezed Draco's arm tighter, planting her other hand firmly on her hip. Pansy's scowl only grew.
"Yeah, so, Harry started talking bad about all the girls who had fallen for him. Draco, attempting to defend them, was only put on the spot when Harry said this," Pansy continued, the next words being echoed by both of Draco's friends, "'At least my parents love me'."
Draco bit the inside of his cheek, holding back a laugh as Hermione gasped.
"Bloody hell, Harry!" Ron cried, looking at him in dismay.
Draco stiffened as he watched Hermione slap Harry's arm. The act of physical altercation wasn't what caused Draco's heart to sink. It was Harry's face.
His forest green eyes looked dull and shallow. His bottom lip was caught in between his teeth, his brows furrowed in guilt. The tip of Harry's nose was red from the frostbitten cold, casting even more of a look of regret.
