There wasn't any time for the whole situation to register to you as the girl grabbed your hand leading you out of the room. You looked back to Hyunjin sending him an apologetic smile. She stopped in her tracks, turning to you with a worried face, "Mateo texted."
"What?", you frowned. Of course you didn't know who Mateo was! Who the fuck was that guy?
"And I texted him back!", she admitted, her eyes filled with guilt.
You couldn't understand much about the situation and you were certainly not completely fine after kissing Hyunjin, but you wanted to try your best to help the girl, "Why?"
"I don't know! It has only been a few days but I just can't get him out of my mind! I miss him so much!"
You nodded in understanding. Mateo seemed to be some ex-boyfriend of hers. You truly wanted to see the situation from any available point of view and help her deal with it. But although you sympathised with her, you couldn't really know how things used to be since you didn't have any memory of any sort of relationship.
You awkwardly approached her, wrapping your arms around her body, "But he hurt you, didn't he? Do you really want to back to that?"
"No...", she shook her head sheepishly hugging you back, "You're right, I should probably block him or something...", she spoke, having her head buried at the crook of your neck.
"Yeah, you should", you broke the hug off, leaving a small pat at her back.
"Thank you, babe, I really needed that!", she smiled.
Babe? But...
OH MY GOD!
OF-FUCKING-COURSE!
BABE!
THE VOICE...
AND THE GIRL...
But the voice always used 'she'... They can't be the same person...
Unless...
"Hey, sorry...", you spoke up, "my throat is feeling a little dry, could you maybe bring me a glass of water?"
"I... okay, sure", she smiled, leaving your side to head to the kitchen.
You immediately rushed to the first vanity in sight, pushing people aside and pulling every cupboard and drawer open. One by one, you went through everything you could find, until at the last minute you came across what you were looking for.
You took the small notebook, tearing a page apart and rushing to grab the pen that was right next to it. Scribbling down as fast as you could, you tried to make it on time.
Your handwriting was barely legible. You couldn't make out half of the things it said without having to read it twice. But you didn't know how much more time you had left. You had to be brief and straight to the point.
'Sooo...', a voice made you freeze in your tracks, 'Do you want me to tell you how pointless what you are trying to do is, or do I wait til you figure it out on your own?'
You took a deep breath closing your eyes and mentally cussing her out. You expected something like that would happen, but you couldn't let your only chance in sight slip off your hands.
"No, he isn't my bias either, take me to the next level", you spoke with no colour in your voice, having given up on everything.
'So we're doing it the easy way, I'm happy for you!', she commented, 'You know, I've started to genuinely like you, I wouldn't enjoy it if you got your ass eliminated!'
"Like me? What the fuck would you do to me if you hated me??", you raised your voice, "And what do you mean by 'eliminated'? You're telling me there's another way to get out of here?"
'Don't get too excited!', she stopped you, 'Eliminated means finito for you! I mean sure, you're out, just not alive enough to be happy about it!'
You sighed again, feeling your blood pressure rising the longer the two of you talked, "Spare me the bullshit, please... Just leave me the fuck alone!"
She chuckled, "Okay, babe! It's not like I can refuse you your last wish before you go completely insane!"
