Chapter 1 - It All Starts !!

Chapter 1

Brenda's POV

"Do you have any idea what the meeting is about?" Nellie asked entering Brenda's office "No am as clueless as you are " She replied

"You know what, sometimes I wonder if you are really a part owner of this company because they dont tell you anything" Nellie emphasized the "anything" part.

"Please stop because I'v heard it so many times" Brenda gave her a glear to back her off and Nellie rose her hands in surrender.

"I was just saying, no need to get all defensive"

"Can we go to the board room now?" Brenda asked picking a small notebook and pen from her desk.

She doesnt really get involved with the company's issues too much and she likes to keep it that way. Getting involved would mean working closely with Dylin, the ceo's only son and thats a no no for her because she doesnt get along with him at all.

"No problem" Nellie replied and followed Brenda out of the office.

The board room was amost full when they entered. Brenda took her seat at the left hand side of the ceo's chair. The room's chatting suddenly died down when the ceo Mr Lucas and his son Dylin entered. Brenda rose her head from going through the little note book and immediately met Dylin's eyes. He gave her that annoying smirk that he usally has on his face. " Arrogant jerk" Brenda thought to herself as he took his seat directly facing her and his dad took his at the head of the conference table.

"Sorry for giving you all a short notice before the meeting. Dylin......" Mr Lucas said and took some files from his son. He passed papers round the table for us to know the reason for the meeting.

"The manager of Sandra Hotels Association just offered our company a contract to get them elegant designs for their newly finished five star hotel. As you can see, how much they are offering for the contract and other informations are there on the papers I just passed. I would like you to read them and let me know what you think about them"  Mr Lucas said as everyone started going through the papers given out.

I couldn't help but notice that the figures on the paper was favorable to our company. I mean we have managed to still hold the title as the best designing company in the country for the past years but this is the best contract the company has gotten so far. Personally I was really looking forward to sealing this contract and moving our company to the next level. I guess I spaced out because I noticed everyone was looking at me.

"Brenda are you alright ?" Joseph from the marketing department asked me.

"Am sorry about that. I had a lot going through my mind"  I replied and gave him an innocent smile.

"Well then make sure the 'things on your mind' doesn't affect work"  The jerk Dylin had to say.

"You dont have to worry Mr. Willams because that wont happen" I replied and gave him a good glear.

He had that annoying smirk on his face and it angered me the more to know that he just said that on purpose to make me angry. Its not my fault we dont get along because i really tried to tolerate him when he started working for the company but it just didnt work. He always found a way to get me on edge and he seems to enjoy doing that a lot.

"From what we have here the contract is a good one" Dylin said and everyone nodded their heads agreement to what he said.

"What do you think Brenda" Mr Lucas asked turning his attention on me.

"I agree with Mr Williams because designing the hotel wouldn't take much of our resources and would give the company more exposure for investors"  I said  "And how much they are offering for the contract would leave us with a lot of profit so I think we should take up this contract"

"So then it is agreed that the contract is ours. I would let their manager know of the boards decision" Mr Lucas said " Does anyone have any questions? " He asked and looked around the table.

Nellie raised up her hand and started talking "Sir you hadn't told us who would come up with the designs" She asked and the look on everyone's face showed she has voiced out what everyone wanted to know.

"I would decide on that and let all of you know who I choose. If there is no more questions....... this meeting has ended" He said and got up from his seat. Everyone got up and waited for him to leave the room before chatting with each other. Nellie immediately came to my seat.

"I have a good feeling about this contract" I told her and got up from my seat.

"Yeah me too" she replied with a smile on her face. Just as we were about to leave the room Dylin called my name.

"What does he want" She whispered to me

"Apart from looking for trouble what else" I whispered back to her and turned to face Dylin and his best friend a.k.a. partner in crime.

"Can I have a word with you" he said it as if it was a statement and he wasn't asking. He turned to Nellie and added  "Alone if you don't mind".

"I will see you later Nellie" she had a look on her face telling me this was a bad idea but nodded and left anyway.

Nick also left and the rest of the people in the room left some few minutes later. I couldn't help but notice Dylin's eyes on me when we were alone. He had that stupid smirk on his face.

"What did you have to tell me Mr Williams?"  I asked feeling uneasy.

He suddenly pulled me to him and held my waist firmly against his body. His other hand came to my chin and raised my face to his. I was so shocked and scared at once but that didn't stop me from noticing how sexy his lips were and Oh My God how handsome he looked right now. What has gotten into me!!! Drooling over Dylin was so not good.

I suddenly found my voice  "what is the meaning of this Dylin?" I asked trying to pull away from his arms he just wont let me.

"Now we are not so formal after all" he said with that stupid smirk on his face. "You look beautiful right now. I couldn't take my eyes off you throughout the meeting" he said with his face just a few inches from mine. I could feel his breath on my face.

"Let go of me Dylin, or I would scream" I threatened but he just laughed and chuckled at my childishness.

"Nothing is stopping me from shutting you up with a kiss. I know you want this as much as I do so quit pretending" he whispered and brushed his lips with mine.

My legs suddenly felt weak and I held his neck for support. That wasn't a good idea because he thought it was an invitation, he crushed his lips into mine and started kissing me.
