2nd January 1903
Agathe was woken up by the guardsmen, who then dragged her outside and dropped her at Faustine's feet.
"Shave the head of this woman. She's dying today." One of them told Faustine.
"Today? Poor her."
She helped Agathe up to her feet and helped her sit down on a stool. Then, she went to fetch a razor and began to loosen Agathe's French braid. Looking at her luscious red hair, Faustine almost felt guilty for cutting such hair.
"I'm so sorry I have to do this." Faustine told Agathe, whilst gripping on her hair.
"I'll be fine. Cut it, it's not like I'll need it anyway."
Carefully, Faustine ran the razor through Agathe's hair. Clumps of hair began to fall on Agathe's dress and she picked them up and stared at them for a long time. This was it. This was the day of her death, the end of her life. Farewell world.
Once Agathe was completely bald, Faustine walked over to the counter and took out a white bonnet. She walked over to Agathe and began to secure the bonnet on her head. Once she had finished, Faustine held Agathe's shoulders and faintly smiled.
"I don't usually do this because I fucking hate prisoners, but may God be with you I mean it. May He accept you in His arms." Faustine told her.
Agathe clutched her hands and smiled.
"Thank you Faustine, thank you for everything."
Agathe stood up and followed Faustine out of the prison house and into the care of the guardsmen who escorted her to a cart that would be hauled by a horse. They helped Agathe on to the cart and sat her down. The horse rider mounted on the horse and began to hit the horse with a stick which prompted the horse.
There was a big crowd waiting to see their soon-to-be martyr being executed right in front of their eyes. Anna and Lucille were also in the crowd, anxiously waiting for Agathe.
"I can't believe that this is happening," Anna said to Lucille, "fuck the Guillotine. I pray I never die on it."
"Same here. Here's Agathe." Lucille said.
The crowd erupted into screams was now in frenzy. Anna and Lucille were thrown everywhere and when Agathe was in plain sight, Anna jumped up and tried to move past the crowd to hop on the cart with Agathe.
"Anna! Are you crazy? Trying to hop on a cart? Might as well ask to be dead! Get here!" Lucille shouted.
"I want Agathe!" Anna shouted.
Lucille pulled her back and shook her head.
"Don't be a delinquent ass and come here, I found a shortcut."
Whilst Anna and Lucille were navigating their way through the shortcut, Agathe had finally reached the place of her execution. She looked up at the bright morning sky and whispered to herself:
"Life is good."
A guardsman whistled to Agathe, which made her look down at him.
"Hop off, you're gonna die."
"Help me at least. Look how high the cart is. You think I can jump?" Agathe asked him.
The guardsman rolled his eyes and assisted in helping Agathe climb down the cart. He then tied her hands and helped her climb up the steps to the Guillotine.
Lucille and Anna had finally reached the closest spot to Agathe which made Anna call out Agathe's name. Surprisingly, Agathe turned around and gave a warm smile to Anna, which made Anna burst into tears.
