My name is Andreas Tyson, but everyone calls me Andre. I live in a nice, cozy small town in the middle of Arizona. It's so small, I pretty much know everyone there, the church lady on the corner, the weird neighbor on hill street, lots of...interesting people. I also have a friend named Maurice that lives next store to me, we've been friends since elementary. I remember my dad used to take us out to go get ice cream all the time and have barbecues with Maurice's parents during football games. But it was his last years fighting cancer, no matter how weak he was during his last days. He still would have barbecues and take me and Maurice for Ice cream or go out somewhere, making sure that the last moments I had with him were special. He always told me to follow your heart and achieve your dreams, no matter how big or ridiculous they were, and I took that to heart. When I was little, I loved building stuff from building blocks to Legos, I always let my imagination run wild. Greyson Giovanni Is who I aspire to be, he made all kinds of technology that were ahead of its time making robots weirdly human-like and created ones for the army and even made ones for the public! They're called GioBots. It's like having a pet, but it can talk and do human-like things! I asked mom forever if we could get one, but she always says no, even though they do cost...1,000 dollars to buy, but I always hear other kids saying how cool their Giobot is, and I get jealous. I even tried to build one myself, though I could never match Giovanni's genius. I plan to leave Arizona and go into the big cities one day, and be like Giovanni. Create things that can help people for generations to come. Today, my class is having a show and tell, and I've made something that will blow everyone's minds!
"Ok, who wants to go next?" Ms. Picklepump asks the class. I raised my hand like my life depended on it. "Well, looks like someone has a treat for us, Andre, you're up." I ran up to the front of the class, filled with excitement, grabbed my backpack, and whipped out my best invention yet. "My fellow classmates, I present to you the most powerful invention yet... The ultra magnet!" "Lame." a student yells out. "Just hear me out!" "With this magnet, I'm able to control the magnetic pulse. If set to max, It could be capable of attracting an entire commercial airplane out of the sky, so it is quite dangerous!" I explained. "So what is it for?" A classmate says. "Uhm..." I sat in silence with embarrassment quickly taking over as all I did was make a magnet that was more powerful than a regular one. "Like I said before, LAME!". "Class, let's behave ourselves!" Ms. Picklepump orders. "Thank you for participating, Andre"
I go back to my seat, disappointed with myself for making such a useless invention. "Hey, I thought it was cool," Maurice whispers to me. "I don't need your pity, Maurice, I know I'm a failure." I say with disappointment. "Hey, Wanna go on a bike ride down the mountain trail? May get your mind off of things". Maurice suggested. "Are you kidding, my mom would kill me if I don't die on the mountain." I told him. "Just say we're going to go for a bike ride, she doesn't need to know all the details,"
"Alright, but if I die, I will haunt you until the end of time!" I said, Maurice chuckled, "don't be such a baby." Me and Maurice laugh, and we finish school. After convincing my mom, we went to the mountain trail.
"Ready to have an adrenaline rush?" Maurice asked me. "I don't know, Is this even safe?" "Probably not, but it will be fine." My legs start to shake from fear as we get higher and higher up the mountain. Finally, we reached the top. "Ok on three!" I quietly pray, hoping I don't die. "Two...THREE!" We set off and raced down the mountain. I tried to keep my bike steady. Feeling the wind on my face with adrenaline and speed, I felt like all my worries were slowly lifting off of me, I start to enjoy myself. With Maurice ahead of me, I try to go faster and pass him. "Andre, there's a jump coming up, hope you're ready!" My face goes into shock as the bike lifts in the air like I was floating. The tires of my bike met the ground and feel some relief that I made it out alive. We finally came to a stop as we reached the bottom. "That was Awesome!" I said with pure joy. "So you feel better now?" Maurice asked me. "Yeah, that was a good relief. Thanks, Maurice."
"Anytime, man." he said to me, I smiled, "So, what are you gonna do with that magnet?" "Eh, It's useless, I'll make something better." I told him. I take the magnet out of my backpack and throw it on the ground. "Ok, so race ya back home?" I ask Maurice. "Well, If I win, I want your Sega genesis" "Yea, no." I speed off into the town with Maurice chasing after me.
