The Moment Had Arrived to Move On.

The time had come to depart. It was time to let go of my past and embrace all that my mother deserved for me. I was convinced it was what she would want for me. And deep down, I knew it was time to make a real change.

Putting on my headphones, I scrolled through my playlist until I landed on the perfect tune for this moment.

Coz, I'd never treat me this shitty,

You made me hate this city.

I got in the car and Anastasia drove me to the airport. I almost fell asleep by the time I reached. I pulled out my pocket mirror and made sure my hair was okay. I retouched my lip gloss and pulled on my sweater.

I saw a tall man around 6 feet, dressed in all black, waiting for me with a sign with my name on it. He looked like a thug not gonna lie.

I walked out of my car.

"Aren't you supposed to come with me, Anastasia?"

"Everything I ever had there is over. It's your time to shine, Elle. Have a great future."

"You too."

As I waved a final goodbye and a tight hug, I finally felt I was ready.
