Following her fellow Slytherin fifth-years, Aurora made her way through the dimly lit corridors of Hogwarts, her footsteps echoing softly against the stone walls. As she entered the Slytherin common room, she was immediately struck by its opulent beauty. The room was adorned with emerald green tapestries and plush velvet armchairs, while the flickering light of the fireplace cast a warm glow across the polished wooden floors.
To get into the common room, you had to step through the door that was held shut by the portrait of Salazar Slytherin, the password to enter was 'pureblood'. She found that rather amusing since she was a pureblood,

'That means there are probably zero muggle born witches in this house. Not like I care anyway.'

Making her way to her dormitory, Aurora found her belongings neatly arranged next to an empty bed with green sheets. Two other girls were already in the room, one with short black hair and the other with long dark hair that framed her pretty face.

"Hi, I'm Mara Lynn," the girl with short black hair greeted her with a smile, but Aurora could sense a hint of suspicion in her brown eyes, 'THAT'S MARA LYNN? The girl Matteo jumped and dashed just to avoid? She doesn't seem so bad... she's quite pretty too.'

The other girl stepped forward and shook Aurora's hand, introducing herself, "Ashley Cole. Nice to meet you. Hopefully you are clean and don't snore. Those are my only roommate rules," she said with a playful smile.

Aurora chuckled, feeling a sense of relief at their friendly welcome. "Nice to meet you both. I don't snore, I think, but I do like to keep things tidy. I hope we get along," she replied warmly.

Mara raised an eyebrow, her tone curious. "So, you and Matteo. Seemed to be all chummy-chummy during dinner. You know each other?" she asked, her suspicion evident, 'Damn, she doesn't bullshit around. She went straight to the topic of Matteo, huh. Maybe I do see why he avoids her.'

Not wanting to start off on the wrong foot with her new roommates, Aurora decided to play it safe. "No, we are not friendly. I barely know him, and I have no interest. Doubt he has any interest as well," she lied quite smoothly, 'Man, I am a good Slytherin.'

Mara seemed satisfied with her answer, a hint of relief crossing her features: "He doesn't. He doesn't have interest in you. You're not his type. But that's okay - there are plenty of other guys in this school," she remarked casually. Aurora just thought, 'Bitch.'

But she just laughed at her comment, eager to change the subject. "Yes, I'm sure there are. So many cute guys, and it's just my first day," she replied with a playful wink, hoping to lighten the mood. Ashley seemed to take a liking to Aurora, but she didn't admit it, not wanting to incite jealousy in Mara. Instead, she simply smiled and turned her attention back to unpacking her belongings, ready to start this new chapter of her Hogwarts journey.

'If I want to keep things friendly - I will stay away from Voldemorts son. It won't be too hard, he has no interest, why would he?'

..........

The Slytherin common room was bathed in the soft glow of flickering torches, casting dancing shadows across the dimly lit space. Most students had retired to their dormitories for the night, leaving the room eerily quiet save for the crackling of the fire. Aurora, dressed in tight black leggings and a white hoodie, stepped cautiously into the common room, hoping to avoid any unwanted attention. She spotted Matteo sitting on one of the couches, engaged in conversation with a random Slytherin fifth-year girl with short blonde hair. He had his arm around her,

'Damn, he works fast. First it was some Ravenclaw and now this cute Slytherin girl? Can't blame them, he is good looking- NO. What are you thinking about, Aurora! Get those thoughts out of your head!'
