28: Ambush

The four horse carriage carried the two Junzhu went down from the temple, accompanied by two horse cariage of maidservants and several guards. The procession of them were followed by others Madams and Young Ladies of the nobles and officials, they might didn't met Grand Master Yu Kang but they borrowed auspicious words of Master Hui Kun and that's enough. 

After they were in the flat road of suburbs of Jian capital, the womenfolk didn't immediately go first, but followed the best carriage.

"why are we following their carriage, mother?!" a voice complained, impatiently,

"hush, those are the carriage of An He Junzhu and An Le Junzhu along with their maidservants, you dare to complain?!"

The voice unsatisfiedly snorted, "when i become Crown Princess, let see them acted so high and mighty!"

The Furen only smothered her hand, while thinking to herself, even crown prince and Princess Qing He don't dare to say any ill words nor treated them harshly, how can you do it? But alas, that's her daughter, she couldn't bear to say any bad words to her.

Not long after, their carriage stopped abruptly, the girl inside the carriage fell head first. 

"What happened?!" the Furen asked furiously,

"responded to the Furen, there's thieves who ambushed us. This lowly servant advice Furen to stay in the carriage and don't come out."

"what's happening?" Li Xi Yue opened her eyes, she just closed her eyes to sleep after three whole days stayed in Monastery yet her carriage stopped abruptly.

"it seems there's thieves outside and we're being ambushed!" Li Xi Wan said calmly, she even put a dried fruit inside her mouth and hummed, Li Xi Yue looked at her sister's calm appearance and felt calm herself, she opened a curtain to see outside, there's a lot of men dressed in black from head to toe, they were a lot but there were also Wangfu's guards and other families's guards. It seemed their side would won this, they both didn't worried, this carriage was made by iron, and Emperor was the one who ordered it when he found out his two nieces loved to go to the monastery to pray for him, thus this carriage stood against fire, all of her maidservants knew the martial arts, they were trained under Wangfu's captain, as for other noblewomen... Why would they care again?

A quarter later she opened the curtain again, why she felt like the thieves were doubled? And it seemed to targeted their carriage? There were reasons why she nor Xi Wan were afraid, this carriage was very safe, not to mention there's hidden guards who accompanied them everywhere, and this was a public road ah, if they were robbed in broad daylight like this and the news came to His Majesty's ears, they didn't know what would happen to the Captain of Capital Garrison, ah!

She and Xi Wan kept silent while watched from the curtain, but other women couldn't sit still and must let out a muffled voice, Li Xi Yue felt annoyed by it. Xi Wan lazily drank tea,

The guards almost overwhelmed, before there were horse's squeal made them looked up, there were several men in horse, their black and red flowed by gush of wind, they quickly took of the rein and subdued these thieves in the matter of five minutes, they knocked them then tied them up, while one of them ran first to informed ths Capital garrison.

Just like that, they didn't even need Li Xi Yue's hidden guards at all, Li Xi Wan pouted, had see it,

"not fun."

In a black horse, a man with ugly mask sat there, overlooked his subordinates subdued these thieves easily, he was the famous Demon Commander, the general of Bao Li troops who subdued rebellion in Southern region, 

"this one represent our Junzhu thanked all of brothers for the helping us!" Xian Wangfu's Captain said bowed to them, these guards nodded, Li Xi Yue sighed, she saw their interactions through the curtain, before her eyes collided with that of Demon Commander, she quickly put down the curtain. Li Xi Yue muttered in her heart, she took a deep breath, Li Xi Wan looked at her sister,

"what?" shs asked, furrowed her eyebrows, Li Xi Yue forced a smile,

"i fear we need to get out and thank them in person," She muttered again, took Li Xi Wan's veil and placed properly to cover her face, then did the same to herself, after that she knocked on the carriage, the Wangfu's Captain felt shock when he hear it, but he opened the carriage's door nonetheless, the Eldest Junzhu was eccentric, the youngest Junzhu followed her sister's footsteps, all he, a mere Wangfu's guard did was to protect them.

The door opened, Maidservants who upon hearing their mistress's movement quickly helped her descend from the carriage, a woman wear a light green hanfu with silver embroidery came out, her face were covered with veil only that pair of eyes could be seen, followed by a young girl wearing a pink and white hanfu, and only eyes could be seen,

"this one greet two Junzhu," the Captain greeted them, Li Xi Yue waved her hand, she looked at the man who spoke earlier with her Captain,

"this Junzhu thanked all of the Masters for the helping," the man quickly avoided her bow and returned, what's he kidding? The young woman was his Commander's Fiancée, the future Young Furen, if he accepted the bow right now, he afraid she would count on him when she married over.
