[JYNX] [YEAR-3027]

I looked out the window as yet another hovercar passed by, the Official inside with his or her face hidden. All I could see was the Official's head, covered by a black helmet and pink visor, facing forward as the car sped past.

I heard pink was once a "female color", but obviously not anymore. I fingered my own pink hair and looked at the boy- Ryker, wasn't it?- who had hair the same color. 'The boys with pink hair must've been made fun of alot back then...' I thought.

I frowned as I thought of Zada, who had hair that stuck out like a wooden hut. Her hair was chocolate brown, and her eyes were the same. The combination was rare, and usually a product of upgrades, but hers was actually natural. I looked around at the normal colors other people's hair was- blue, purple, green... Boring, boring boring...

I turned my attention to the electrodesk in front of me. The keyboard lights were flickering off, signaling school would soon end. The flashing yellow light of my flashdrive had stopped blinking, another sign of shut down. The glass screen scrolled through facts of practially prehistoric times- back when there were animals and trees and other seemingly fake things. It all ended in the 2020's, when the humans were stupid and polluted the earth, resulting in devastation and apocolyptic consequences.

The screen shut off as well, retracting into the desk. "Don't forget! Screen 128 through screen-" I ignored the assignment details. I never did my work anyways. Besides. I had much more important things to do during free hours.

There were only 4 free hours, so I had to go quickly. I would exit school as the bell rang and make way to the back doors. I'd jump on my hover board, leaving my tracker-implanted hard drive behind and making headway to the old warehouse.

The warehouse was the last standing stone structure, so obviously it had to be torn down. Anything that is required by the government to be destroyed is just another thing they are trying to hide. And besides. This warehouse was supposedly THE warehouse. The one where the frozen men were kept.

Legend has it the old species were called 'humans' and lived a boring life. They threw their trash on the ground and breathed smoke and polluted earth. The entire Earth was disgusting, and the air unbreathable. The government decided to freeze some people and keep on the human race, and so froze people and stored the bodies beneath a warehouse somewhere. Supposedly the one to be torn down tomorrow night.

I was unsure how true the legend of the frozen people- or the fact that they were underneath this warehouse- was, but I wanted to excavate the place anyways. I didn't know it at the time, but saying 'curiosity crashed the computer' is a huge understatement. That day, I was to learn 'curiosity crumbled society.'
