"... I like you!"

"Huh?" The boy asked with wide eyes. You held out a box of chocolate to him and pushed it into his hands. This was your moment. You were fully confident that he would be the one.

"I like you," the you said again shyly, trusting out flowers awkwardly. The breeze on the rooftop brushed some of your hair into your face. Please say yes, please say yes-

"Sorry, who are you?" You looked at him blankly. No way. He doesn't even know who you are? I want to die I want to die- You opened your mouth to respond as the firm, solid floor beneath you started to shake. The boy looked around in a startled manner. "Somethings happening! We should head downstairs, quick!" He grabbed your wrist and pulled you through the rooftops emergency exit and down the stairwell, but as you went down, your silver charm bracelet glinted in the dim light, and you remembered that you forgot something very important.

"Wait, i need to go back! Im sorry!" Before he could say anything, you sprinted back upstairs and onto the rooftop, meeting the charm that had fallen off of your bracelet, the one your grandma had given to you awhile ago.

"Oh thank God," You sighed in relief. "This stupid thing keeps falling off..."

The ground suddenly shook violently and a huge, earth cracking sound came from below you. You went to the edge of the rooftop and peered down to see that a chunk of the building was now gone. a supervillain, you realized in horror.

You quickly weighed your options here. There were two rooftop exits, but one was on the side where the chunk of the building was now gone, which was the emergency exit. You briefly thought of the boy that had confessed to you, but suddenly another hit came, this time from way closer up than before. Part of the rooftop near the other exit had now crumbled.

This is where you realized: You were fucked.

"Shit, I didn't actually want to die!" You gasped as an explosion from a few floors below shook the entire building. The part of the roof you were standing on cracked, and suddenly you were falling.

Falling.

"WHAT THE FUCK!" You shrieked, and desperately screamed as you were thrown into a free fall. Your life flashed before your eyes as you realized this might be the end. You squeezed your eyes shut as you kept screaming, begging to whoever was up there for a painless death.

"You can stop screaming now."

You slowly opened your eyes and realized you were no longer falling. You were floating, and this man was floating as well, the both of you bathed with a golden light.

His teal eyes studied you carefully, and you blushed. Who was this guy? And why is he kinda...

"Im not checking you out, im making sure you're not hurt, by the way." His long black hair framed his face perfectly, you noticed.

"Who... are you?" You asked in awe.

He blinked. "...You don't know?" He motioned to a conviently placed billboard behind him with his face slapped onto the middle and a quote: "The world's most popular superhero!!! Want to be like him? Join the Heroes agency today!"

"Oh..." You mumbled.

"Inbibitor Lunae." He supplied. "I prefer Dan Heng, though."

He placed you on the ground and gave you a wave before flying up to rescue more people, his black hair with teal highlights flowing behind him.

Your face burned as you watched him. "Hes so pretty," you sighed.

None of this would have happened if you didnt tumble off that roof. You thought as you sat begrudgingly on, ironically, the same roof you had fallen off of a few months ago. You realized this, startled, and grabbed your bag off the floor and headed down the stairwell. A year later you were still single, still the exact same, with the exception of your age and your complete obsession with the superhero imbibitor lunae/Dan Heng.

You stared at the same person you were obsessed with, as he almost killed you with a gust of water. Of course he didn't know it was you, with your gas mask and all black clothes, but still! You tried to reach out to him but he jumped out of the way. You looked at him dumbfounded, then you again remembered that he can't see your face.

"Dan Heng! I really really admire you!" You shouted. This clearly didn't come out as intended due to the gas mask filter, because everyone in the crowd gasped in shock. He sent more water towards you and you teleported away, but not before you got completely drenched.

"Does he really not like fans talking to him outside of meet n greets?" You mumbled to yourself in wonder. Of course, even being blasted with his powers is an honor. Maybe that was a stretch (and kinda weird), but no normal person ever got to get blasted, Except for crazy strong villains, so maybe it isn't exactly an honor...

You pondered this as you went home. "Maybe I'll go see him again tomorrow...!" You said cheerfully. After all, it's not like you were hurting anyone...

"That little-" March 7th muttered angrily as she sat on the hospital bed with a pout. "Did you see the way he flung me?!" She yelped. Dan Heng wasn't sure if she was talking to him or her twitch stream, but he rolled his eyes. "That's why you should be more careful with supervillains."

"Not everyone can heal themselves like you Dan Heng." She said pointedly, giving him a look. He shrugged and set her soup on the tray in her lap. "You'll recover quickly, don't worry." She flopped back and sighed.

"This is so unfair. Being popular is sooo easy for you because you're hot and the strongest hero of all time. Did you know you were the most googled person of all time this year?"

"You've told me this several times March, I know." He took a step away from her and ran his fingers through his short black hair. "I'm going to head out. Tell your fans I said hi." He gave a halfhearted wave to her phone camera and March 7th scoffed as she hid a smile. "See you later!" She called as he left.

"March, do you think Dan Heng will beat this new villain?" One of the chat members asked.

"Well... Dan Heng can do almost everything, but between you and me, he's a lot more vulnerable than he lets on." She sighed.

"Something challenging is definitely coming- no, that isn't my precognition talking. It's just... a feeling. And... I just hope he'll be prepared when the time comes."

"It's been one month" I was too busy failing chemistry okay 😠
