"I don't want to do this any more than you do but the least you can do is make it easy on me." Mercer growls as we head out to his car. Our assignment is to get as many free prizes as we can. I ignore his comment and scoot into the passenger seat.

"Ew. How many girls have you had sitting in this seat?" I challenge.

"None for your information."

"Oh, more of a back seat kinda guy?"

"Blaire what kinda guy do you think I am? I've never slept with a girl and I've only had two or three girlfriends."

"Thats two or three to many."

"Oh does anything please you?" He scoffs as we pull into a shopping complex. We start at the ice cream parlor, and end at jamba juice for this group of stores. "Your umm... Pretty good at getting what you want." He admits after I get at least five dollar certificates from each of the four business we just entered.

"I always get what I want."

"Really? Cause you want me but you have yet to get me." He smirks, again, pulling into a another shopping complex.

"I don't want you nor do I care if I get you. Your one of those guys that thinks they know everything and can get any girl and frankly, not my type." I cross my arms over my white blazer.

"We went over this Blaire. I'm a good guy. Your just to stubborn to see it. I'm sorry I may look like a bad boy, but thats just my persona. I'm really a southern gentleman."

"Oh really? You sure seem like one." I snort as we weave through stores. He just rolls his eyes in response. "Besides technically, Georgia is southeastern."

"We live in a southern state Blaire. Thats why you have a southern accent. Thats why I have a southern accent."

"I don't have a southern accent." I argue even though I know I do.

"Must you argue over everything?" He groans pulling into our last stop. Starbucks.

"What would you like?" He asks stepping inside.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean I'm getting you a Starbucks. What would you like?"

"Oh." I say a little thrown off by his behavior. "Um.. I'll have a hazelnut iced latte."

I watch as he orders my drink and a carmel frappe for himself and pays for both our drinks.

"Thank you." I tell him as he hands me my drink, with a straw already in it.

"A gentleman would do that" He puts in slyly before opening the door for me to exit. I decide that he can win this argument.

So today we are taking the kids to the beach to pick up trash and then have some fun. It would be fun if I liked kids. I love the beach! But not if i have to be weighed down to pick up trash.

"So we get gloves to pick up the trash and stuff right?" I'm sitting on the bathroom counter as kelsey flat irons her hair wavy brown hair, which may be pointless since were going to the beach, but I don't tell her that.

"Yes Darcy. Don't worry. You won't die from any germs."

"Good. Do you like your kid?"

"Ya. Shes cute."

"Shes little." I mention. Her kid is nine I think.

"Ten. Only a year younger then Raelyn."

"Oh. I guess so." I shrug. I return to my room and pull on my pink tye dye bikini top and swim shorts. I used to wear bikini bottoms. But then we had this service about how girls should respect their bodies and dress modestly. So I toned down a lot of my outfits and stuff as much as possible. At this time (ninth grade) I also had pink streaked hair. But I got rid of that, because I realized, I was just looking for attention. While I like attention. God really deserves all the attention. Not me. So I toned it down alot. Of course its hard. Obviously, if I turned my wardrobe completely modest, Id be wearing a tankini like Blaire, or a tank top and shorts like Kailee. But... Its a working progress.

I grab a beach bag, and a Iced tea Arizona from the fridge before joining Kelsey in the car. Were all meeting at the beach. So when we arrive I spot Cruz at the edge of the sand surrounded by kids.

"Hey Kelsey, Hey Darcy. Were waiting on a few more people then we will get started." He instructs. I spot Raelyn wearing a oversize white tshirt that was tied at her side to fit a little better, not that it made a difference, it looked like a grown mans. She also sported a baseball cap that said Justin Bieber. So shes that kinda girl.

I walk up to her and she eagerly hugs me.

"I havent been to the beach since I was eight" She tells me hopping in place.

"You live this close to the beach and you don't come all the time? Id be here every weekend!"

"I think its not as fun if you live here"

"Then why are you so excited?" I argue with her.

"Its like disneyland. It never gets old." She giggles digging her bare feet into the sand.

"Exactly." I grin. I decide since we have a few moment to spare... "Hey Cruz. Whats up?" I ask giggly

"Not much. Were getting started in three minutes. "

"Ya." I dismiss his comment. "So what are you doing later tonight?"

"Sleeping. The beach is tiring dont you think?"

"No. I have all the energy in the world."

"You're something Darcy,"

Not the answer I wanted but oh well. I perfer to enjoy the time with Raelyn anyway. Well kinda anyway...

"Tanning?" I figure stands over me in the sun.

"No resting before tonight." I chuckle up at Beck. Tonight is an all camp game of glow in the dark dodgeball. Its supposed to be intense and our first all camp game.

"Supposed to be intense. But your cabins going down."

"Psh didnt you read the rules. They split everyone based on small groups. Were on the same team." I giggle sitting up from the cabin deck and whipping off my sunglasses to look at him better.

"Snap. No friendly competition for .us then."

"We don't need it. I like being friends"

Dear Darcy,

Youd be proud. I think I just flirted minorly with a guy.

Your welcome.

Love kailee

That night everyone dresses in all white and head to the gym. The black lights are on and were instructed to grab glow sticks and stick them to us to make us more glowy. The balls are taped with neon green glow in the dark tape. I'm scared of the dark, but since its semi lit. Its semi okay.

"You okay?" Beck ask me, arms crossed across his chest.

"Ya. Why wouldn't I be?"

"Youre scared of the dark."

"Shush! I'm supposed to be brave." I glare at him under the dim purple lights.

"You're brave. Its okay." He shrugs. I stomp away because even though I am scared of the dark. I don't want it said out loud.

We play dodge ball in rounds for the ultimate champion. Our team got to the third round before we lost. But Emeree held her ground. Or else we wouldn't have gotten that far.

When we finish we walk back to the cabin, and rest. Its only about midnight. But since the girls are energized, me and Reah don't get to sleep till about two in the morning when they finally all knock out.
