Some time had passed. Things with Tyler were a bit tense. Aurora knew Tyler disliked Halo and literally anyone who was in Gryffindor house, but she wasn't sure how deep the hatred went. They were already having fights as Tyler basically forbid her from talking to any guy or even girl from any other house. As Aurora and Halo sat in the library, engrossed in their studies, they maintained a focused silence, finding solace in the quiet atmosphere of the library. Aurora and Halo never mentioned Matteo, she knew it was a sore subject and she decided never to get involved again, keeping her friend groups apart. However, their peace in the library was disrupted when the heavy wooden door creaked open, and Aurora's heart sank as she saw Matteo, Faize, and Tyler entering the room,
'Oh no, he'll be mad. I lied that I wouldn't be in the library with Halo today...' her thoughts trailed on, 'He already accused me of liking Halo before. This won't go well.'
Aurora's initial reaction was one of disbelief and dread, hoping against hope that the trio wouldn't notice her and Halo tucked away in their corner. But fate had other plans, and their eyes inevitably landed on her. Sensing the impending confrontation, Aurora turned to Halo, a look of apology flickering in her eyes, "I'm sorry for what's about to happen," Aurora whispered to Halo, her voice tinged with regret. Halo's expression shifted to one of confusion, sensing the tension in the air but not fully comprehending the impending storm.
As the trio of boys approached their table, Aurora felt a wave of apprehension wash over her, especially when she noticed the intense fury burning in Tyler's eyes upon seeing Halo.
In the library, Aurora tried to maintain a composed demeanour as Tyler, Faize, and Matteo approached their table. She mustered a smile, attempting to mask her unease, and inquired, "What are you three doing here?" Tyler responded with a smile, his words laced with curiosity,
"Just interested to see what my girlfriend is doing." Aurora chuckled nervously, her eyes darting between her friends, as Halo interjected, "I didn't know you were dating someone."
Aurora's throat felt dry as she struggled to find the right words. She shifted uncomfortably in her seat, avoiding Matteo's piercing gaze. Matteo's smirk only heightened her discomfort. Tyler pressed on, his tone tinged with disappointment, "Oh, Aurora. You hadn't told him about us?"
Feeling the weight of Tyler's expectation, Aurora hesitated before responding, "I prefer when Halo and I focus on studying. I don't go around chatting to everyone about my personal business."
Tyler's expression tightened, a hint of frustration evident in his voice as he insisted, "Let's go, Aurora." Confusion clouded her features as she countered, "What? Why? I'm studying—not going anywhere." As Aurora glanced toward Matteo, her heart sank at the sight of him throwing flirtatious glances at some Ravenclaw girls across the library. The pang of jealousy mixed with anger surged within her, adding to the tension in the air.
In the tense atmosphere of the library, Aurora stood her ground, her voice firm as she asserted, "I'm not going. We are busy—as you can see." Tyler's jaw clenched visibly at her refusal, his frustration evident in his response, "If you want to study, you can study with us or Ashley."
Aurora's laughter was tinged with bitterness as she retorted, "Yeah, Ashley is too preoccupied with her own stuff," casting a nasty glance in Faize's direction, who appeared startled by her animosity. With resolve in her voice, Ashley commanded, "Leave, now."
Tyler's anger seemed to intensify at her defiance. Ignoring her protests, he forcefully grabbed her wrist, causing her to wince in pain. Through gritted teeth, Aurora pleaded, "Tyler, stop, you're hurting me." Disregarding her distress, Tyler directed Faize, "Get her stuff, we are leaving."
