A few days later
Stephen Stills' Place

Kim looked around, sighing as she took a seat behind her drums. Her eyes darted to Scott as he picked up his bass and stared at the ground, shuffling his feet around and pouting.
She almost felt bad for Scott, knowing how pained he was. Knowing how obsessed he had been with Ramona. However, she also remembered that he is Scott Pilgrim, and she hates his guts, and he cheated on Ramona.
This also hadn't been the first time that Scott and Kim were chasing the same girl. While Scott and Lisa Miller never dated, they clearly were both longing to be a little bit more than friends, especially Lisa. Each day Kim watched as Lisa yearned for Scott, the way she always put on the cutest outfits and tolerated all of the Scott's bullshit in an effort to gain his attention. She also watched as Scott was an idiot and barely picked up on most of it.

Stephen walked in the room, holding his guitar and looked around at his band members. He even looked at Young Neil for a moment, who was fumbling around with his fingers. Scott was still pouting and kicking up dust off of the floor. While she hadn't noticed, Kim had been tapping one of her drumsticks against her leg for a few minutes. Stephen sighed.
"We don't have time to mess around today, got it?" He said, looking at his band mates. "We were lucky to even make it past the last round of the battle, but this time we have serious competition," A knock at the door interrupted Stephen's attempt at giving a speech.
"I'll get it," Scott whined, walking over to the door. He opened it slowly, as gasped as he looked at the green haired girl standing before him.
"Ramona?" He muttered, his eyes twinkling. "Y-your hair, it's all... green.."
"No way Pilgrim we thought it was orange," Kim said in a flat tone, walking over to Ramona and practically shoving Scott out of the way. Kim wasn't typically an affectionate person, but just for good measure she gave Ramona a quick hug.
"So.. why did you decide to show up?" Scott asked, ignoring Kim completely. "We're like, broken up and stuff. Does this mean we're getting back together?"
"Um," Ramona said, looking at the two people in front of her in confusion. "No, dude."
"She's not even here for you," Kim said in a flat tone. Her face flushed a bit thinking about her possessiveness over Ramona, so she walked back over to her drums hoping to pretend that it hadn't happened.
"Then why are you here?" Scott asked.
"You aren't the only Sex Bob-Omb member I know," Ramona looked at Kim, who just kept looking her drums despite being aware of Ramona's gaze.
"Wait a minute," Scott put his finger up to his mouth, looking at Ramona and then back at Kim. "You and her?!" Scott had now lost the sadness in his voice, it was now rough and he spit a little when he spoke.
"Dude, you totally cheated on me, and it isn't your decision who I choose to date just because we both live here," Ramona said, shaking her head.
"I didn't cheat on you! You were ignoring me. What did you expect me to do?"
"That's low," Kim said. "Even for an idiot like you, Scott Pilgrim."
"And you!" Scott dramatically turned around and pointed at Kim. "We've been friends since middle school! This is how you repay me for everything I've done for you!" Scott was yelling at this point.
"Repay you? When have you ever done anything for me?" Kim kept her tone low and quiet, but for the first time since she met Scott Pilgrim, she found it difficult not to argue. She found herself wanting to yell back at him, wanting him to feel bad for all of the things he had done to her in the past. Wanting him to feel guilty for what he had done to Ramona. "You're insane, Pilgrim," She said before Stephen interrupted.
"If we don't practice, everyone is going to think we suck, because we're going to suck!"
Kim sighed, not wanting to hear another one of Stephen's anxious rants, so she began tapping her drumsticks together. "WE ARE SEX BOMB-OMB! ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR!"

Some time later
The Ninth Circle

"Amp Vs. Amp? Are you kidding me?" Stephen paced around anxiously as the rest of the crew began loading the equipment inside.
"It'll be fine, we aren't going to suck anymore than usual," Kim said, but secretly she was equally as anxious. Not only because of the show, but the tension that stuck between herself and Scott. She also hadn't heard from Ramona since band practice, and felt as if she had truly made a fool out of herself in front of Ramona.
Kim continued setting up onstage, noticing how Scott wouldn't even look at her. Young Neil, however, only watched Kim, which was strange considering the two of them weren't that close.
"Is Knives coming tonight?" Kim asked Young Neil, knowing they had a strange off and on relationship due to Knives being totally obsessed with Scott Pilgrim.
"Um, she is," He said dryly. "But she isn't here for me, she's here for Scott."
"She's your girlfriend, dude," Kim said, piecing the last few parts of her drum kit together.
"Not anymore," He looked down at his shoes. "We talked, she's with Scott now, I think she liked him the whole time,"
Usually Kim would've made some kind of remark about how it was obvious that their relationship was only for Knives to win over Scott, but the anger and hatred she felt for Scott in that moment was so high that she found herself feeling bad for Young Neil.
Each member of Sex Bob-Omb took their places, but before they could properly prepare the other band began playing, but it wasn't a band they would typically play against.
The Katayangi Twins were a duo, specializing in keys. They only stared back at the stage on the opposite end of the room as they pressed the keys to produce sound.
Sex Bob-Omb didn't expect it when a pair of dragons emerged, coming toward their set. Wind blew through the place, knocking down equipment and stage lights. The band all looked at each other. hoping to start playing, but Scott only stared into the crowd. That was the very moment that Kim had noticed Ramona standing there, looking around and twisting her hair between her fingers.
Stephen began singing into the mic and strumming his guitar, so naturally Scott and Kim began playing to the best of their abilities, but because they hadn't yet been counted off they just sort of all played on their own, and it was only a whole bunch of random noise. Even Young Neil, who did not have an instrument, was somehow out of time in his own way. Kim, as the drummer, attempted to put everything back on track but it was only useless.
With the click of a few more keys, the band were knocked off their feet.
Literally.
Stephen fell with a hard thud while Scott just sort of awkwardly dropped to the ground. Luckily for Kim, she'd already been sitting. Scott stood up, pulling up Stephen.
"We have to keep going," Stephen said, coughing. "We need that contract with G-Man."
"Stephen you can't-" Kim began to say, but then an idea popped into her head. "Both of you, go, I can do this,"
"Kim what are you t-" Stephen began, putting his hand up to his head. He excepted his defeat, and the reality that Sex Bob-Omb sucks, and walked off the stage with Scott.
She began hitting the drums, creating a new rhythm she had never played before. She wasn't a playing a Sex Bob-Omb song, but rather creating something of her own. She knew it was risky, but it was a chance she was willing to take. The clashing and continued, but Kim had created a beast of her own.
She could feel herself becoming tired, and playing was becoming more difficult, but she kept going and going as the group across from her continued to play.
Eventually, the lights went down, and Kim heard clattering of change around her. She stood up, even smiling for a moment as the crowd was cheering for her, but she decided to run off stage. She knew she needed to get to Ramona.
She walked through the crowd of pretentious young hipsters, spotting the green haired girl in the crowd. "Ramona!" Kim shouted, running to her.
"Hey," Ramona said, looking at her feet. "I'm sorry for walking out the other day, I'm just not good at that kind of stuff. I wasn't trying to ignore you or anything, but I understand if you don't want to-" Kim cut off Ramona, pulling her into a hug.
"I don't care about any of that," She said. "I'm just happy that you're here." Kim felt her face flush as butterflies swarmed her stomach. She pulled away from the hug, but Ramona took her hand. "Who the hell are those guys? Did you date them?" She asked her.
"I dated them my freshman year of college. At the same time. I know that's not very nice, but it's not like they had good intentions. You should've seen them when they found out I was playing them both," Ramona said, giggling a little.
"Well, I'm going to go get food with the band if you want to come. It's stupid, but it's like tradition or something like that,"

Sneaky Dee's

"What is this place?" Ramona asked as the two girls walked inside, both of them holding hands.
"It's a terrible Tex-Mex restaurant and bar. I'm not sure why we go here, actually. It's disgusting,"
Both girls went over and found the band, who were sitting with menus, trying to decide what disaster of a 'meal' they planned to get.
"So, I guess if the other band blows up it means we won, correct?" Scott asked Stephen, who was now taking a drink from a craft beer he'd ordered.
"Guess so, and we owe it to Kim," he replied. Scott didn't respond.
Ramona eyes darted to Scott, who was sitting with his arm around Knives. She glared at him. "How did she even get in here?" Ramona asked, finding it impossible to just not say anything.
"I talked to the owner, it's fine if as long as we don't let her drink," Stephen said. Ramona clenched her hands into a fist under the table.
"Did you see anything you want?" Kim asked her.
"Actually, I think I'm going to go to the restroom if you want to come with," She said, standing up from the table. Kim, confused, followed.

"I don't understand how that girl is so stupid," Ramona said to Kim, looking at herself in the mirror and fixing her hair. "He doesn't even like her. He's just obsessed with the fact that someone, a girl, is obsessed with him,"
"Ramona-" Kim started.
"You'd think for someone who's such a loser, he wouldn't be able to find so many girls to cheat on,"
"Ramona, are you jealous of Knives?" Kim asked in a neutral tone, looking down at the ground. Ramona sighed, regretting her tangent.
"I'm not, but the whole situation is still upsetting," She said. "I started to love him, and it just makes me so angry how someone could-"
Ramona was interrupted by a clashing sound in the room before she was pushed down to the floor. She looked up in confusion, seeing the girl who was now on top of her.
"Knives?!" Ramona exclaimed angrily.
"You broke the heart that broke mine! How dare you!" Knives shouted. "You stole my boyfriend and then you broke his heart!"
Ramona pushed Knives off of her, stood up, and grabbed Knives by the collar of her shirt, pinning her against the wall. "I did not steal your boyfriend. I didn't steal Scott. I didn't steal anyone. He cheated on you, and then he cheated on me. No one can take a guy from you, if someone wants to stay, they will stay, they won't be able to be stolen," Ramona said, and then she put down the smaller girl. "Let's go, Kim," Ramona grabbed Kim's hand, leading her out of the restroom and then out of the bar.
"I don't know how you do it," Kim said to her. "I don't know how you just say what you want to say, and you fight back like that, I can never get any further than just a snarky remark," She said.
"Yeah," Ramona began to dust off her clothes. "It gets tiring sometimes. I don't always like being this way, I don't mean to be so angry... I'm just.. tired of it all I guess," Kim put her hand up to side of Ramona's face, pulling her into a soft kiss.
