(A/N Before we start, I want to clarify one thing JILLIAN IS BLACK AND SO IS HER FAMILY, LEONARD IS WHITE AND SO IS HIS FAMILY)

Jillian was sitting at her desk when suddenly someone knocked at the door, "Yes, come in," she answered. Her brother, Andres, opened the door. "What do you need?" she said while standing up from her chair. She was wearing a black suit and heels, a neckless and white bracelet.

By the look on his face, Andres seemed quite stressed , and then he answered, saying, " Dad, he is in the hospital." The calm expression in her face vanished. " No,not again," she thought. After her mother's death, Jillian was still deeply traumatized and still feared losing her family and loved ones. Andres got closer to her and leaned in for a hug while he told her that everything was going to be ok. They seated down on the couches, and Jillian, after calming a bit down asked "what happened ? Like, why is he in the hospital?" Andres answered, saying," he fainted , and while he was at the hospital, they ran some check-ups to be sure he was ok, but they found he has lung cancer. " Jillian's heart sank, and suddenly asked, " What stage ?!?" Andres heisted for a while and then replied, " the fourth. " Jillian stood up and walked right out of her office. She was quickly greeted by the 2 bodyguards that were standing right in front of her door. She continued walking while Andres was following her. Suddenly, she saw Nancy, her manager and assistant, and told her, " Prepare a car for me." Nancy replied with " yes ma'am." The two of them took the elevator and got out of the skyscraper . Right out of the building, there was their car waiting for them,as they entered, the driver greeted them and asked where they were heading to, and Andres answered with the name of the hospital.

AT THE HOSPITAL

They entered room 506, one of the VIP rooms, and they saw Kayla and their aunt, Lauren. Kayla was crying her eyes out on the bed near her father, while Lauren seemed sad.

Jillian turned her attention on her father , she seated next to him . Before she could say anything, he interrupted her and said, "Get married." Jillian was stunned, to say the least, as she was still processing what her father said she replied with " I should get married ? Dad, you are here in the hospital, and you're still thinking about the company ? Can you be a human being for once ? You are in your deathbed right now and instead of thinking how you can spend your last days with your family, you're thinking about a fucking company !!!" " How am I not supposed to think about the company ?! Am not only thinking about that but also you, can't you see ? You're 25 and still haven't found your mate, isn't that a shame ?!?! Your brother and sister found theirs ages ago, but you're the one who should be my successor still nothing " he replied.

Jillian tried to not shout at her father since he was sick, but it was stronger than her, all her bottled up emotions that she had suppressed over the years just came out as she yelled " See ?! This is why we never had a proper father-daughter relationship, just because I am an S alpha doesn't mean I don't have fucking feelings !! U always pushed me to be perfect but never tough of my emotions " she said as she stormed out of the room slamming the door.

Months went by while her father was getting treatment with some improvement whatsoever , she was preparing to take over the company. Jillian was always grateful to her aunt, who was by her side this whole time and helped her through all.

Jillian's continued to try to visit her father in the meantime, but he said he didn't want to see her so even if she was there they wouldn't talk, even Kayla tried to change their father's heart but nothing, he wouldn't change his mind until Jillian either got married or got at least a date .

She was way too occupied with taking care of her sister , paying her father's hospital bills , managing the company, and taking care of little things that she totally forgot about her father's request.

2 MONTHS LATER

Jillian was in a meeting when her secretary, Nancy, entered the room.
"Ma'am there is a call from the hospital for you," Nancy said.
" Oh , can you guys excuse me for a second, please?" Jillian said to her guests, who replied with a simple nod of approval .
Jillian answered the phone and there was a doctor talking.
"Am I speaking with Jillian Caddel?" said the doctor, "yes, that's me. What is the issue. Was there a problem with the payment ? "
"No, the issue is about her father Ma'am"
He replied. Jillian felt her legs go numb. " WHAT ABOUT HIM DID HE DIE !?!?!" She shouted all of the employees on her same floor heard her and were now trying to eavesdrop on her conversation.
"Am really sorry about your loss, Miss But - " said the doctor before being interrupted by jillian. " But you guys said he was getting better," she said while emotionlessly crying.
The doctor then said, "Indeed he was getting better. In fact, he didn't die from the cancer. Someone assassinated him this evening, and now the police are investigating the crime scene. Am going to need you to come to the hospital Ma'am "

Jillian was way too stunned to speak.
All she was thinking was, " God, please let this be a dream.
