Jillian was way too stunned to speak.
All she was thinking was, " God, please let this be a dream.

Jillian turned to Nancy and said to her, "Tell all the guests that something came up, and that I have an urgent matter to attend and that u will reschedule the meeting with them."

Nancy nodded and direct her self to the meeting room.
Jillian instead was already rushing out of the building.
The stars were not particularly shiny that night, probably because of the city lights ,she thought.

As soon as she was out, she located her personal car immediately and hopped on in a flash.

Karl, the driver, was shocked to see jillian was about to choke on his dinner.
Jillian, seeing him, said, " I'll give you a bonus if you can take me to the XXX hospital."

Karl didn't even think twice and started the car.

AT THE HOSPITAL

Arriving there, all she saw was caos, police officer going and coming.
Patients that were being interrogated, other patients that were being moved to other rooms, and then she spotted kayla.

She wasn't alone, tho, Andres and Lauren were there too.
Andres was talking to a police officer, Lauren was instead trying to calm down Kayla, which was particularly shaken.
After all, she lost both her parents by the age of 18 now.
Jillian rushed to her and hugged her, Andres instead just finished talking to the police officer and made sign to jillian to talk in private.

SOME TIME LATER
In a random room

"Jillian what the police said is truly traumatising "Andres started " they said that the murdered ended through the window apparently, and that he stabbed father 10 times while he was asleep " jillian still had stoic expressionless face.
Andres knew that she was thinking of something, but even after knowing her for her whole life and being her big brother, he still couldn't understand what was running through her mind.

Jillian was thinking of hiring a private investigator , and then she said "continue, what else did he say", Andres said " well he told me that they wanted to interrogate us at the police station but nothing more "

Jillian replied with, "ok."
And then left, she was on her way to talk to her aunt and kayla.

As soon as she saw them she said " we need to get out of here , the paparazzi will surely start to follow us and they aren't going to stop until they get their answers" Lauren and kayla nodded .
"For the time being, you guys should refrain from leaving the house she said, and you kayla, u need to refrain from going to school, so I will hire a private teacher, ok?"
Kayla answered with, " Can I at least meet Jen ? I promise she won't tell anything to anyone she is my mate after all. "
Jillian wanted to say no but couldn't bring her self to, after all now they were all orphans and kayla would be staying all alone in that big mansion so she replied to kayla with " ofc she can but she too won't be able to get out of the house ".
Kayla's eyes lit with happiness, and jillian was glad .

A few days later
At jillian's house

The TV was on, and the journalist was speaking as she said and quoted, " Shocking news, one of the biggest tech company CEO, Henry Caddel, found death in his hospital bed a few days ago.
The police are investigating, and here is a statement from the successor of the company,Jillian Caddel."
The next thing she saw was herself saying, " We want to thank everyone that has shown support and was of great help during the case. And that to the murdered that is out there I promise we will catch you "
She offed the TV.
Jillian was stressed, and she tried to take a nap.

Some months later
At the end of the funeral

She was greeting some of her friends, loved ones, and clients.
After she was done with the greetings, she faced her father's headstone.
She never cried, but at that moment, that was all she could do.
Uglily cry in front of her death father, and she regretted not getting married and instead arguing with him.

Jillian stood up and left. Her eyes were still red from crying.

Not much after she received a call from her father's lawyer.
She answered, and he quickly said, " Is this Jillian caddel ? " she answered, saying," Yes, that's me. What are you calling for ?"
The lawyer then said, " Well, I have your father's will that he left before dying, and I think now it's the appropriate time to read it since you want to quickly take over the company."
Jillian answered saying "ok when do you want to meet ? "
"I think this evening will be ok, I will forward the news to every other family member involved," he said
" See you later," she answered.

That evening
at the lawyers office

Everyone was present: Lauren, jillian, kayla , andres and Noah (Lauren's son ).
Then, the lawyer began speaking.
"So your father left a handful of things,let me start: to kayla, he left 3 of his sport cars , the mansion they both lived in and a small cosmetic business.
To Andres, he left 2 of his beach villas and a just started business in Spain.
To noah, he left 2 sports cars and to Lauren a small property and land in the mountains in Italy. "
"What about me ?" Jillian said.
The lawyer had a surprised expression on his face and then said "Well your own is kind of particular , you see it's the only one with a condition to meet if you want to access your inheritance"
Jillian still calmly asked, "What is the condition ?".

The lawyer answered, " You have to get married within 2 weeks to inherit the company, the rest of your father's properties, and all his car and goods."
Jillian was shocked and then replied with, "And what happens if I don't meet these conditions ?"
He answered, saying, " they all go to someone else that I can't disclose."

Jillian's world just came crumbling down. What will she do now?
